I am goin to remove the mechanic pump from my mac. Are any prosidure to do
That? I heard that when you remove it it has a small metal that I have to be carefull! (becarefull of what?) , Do I remove the small metal or do I leave it there? :confused:

For what it is worth, what I remember doing with my Mac 72 was removing fuel pump and gasket, cutting aluminum housing to perhaps 1/2 inch from engine casing, cutting plunger rod to plug hole (and not to contact crankshaft cam and also sticking out approx. 1/4 inch) then filling entire hole with epoxy. No leaks yet (I think!)
"small metal" you refer to may be the plunger rod. Good Luck!

Jose, if you have the engine off the airframe you can plug the hole easily. Remove the pump & gasket, then remove the pump rod. Next remove the seal from the case , Take a handsaw & saw off the pump mount off the bottom of the case. Next take a 1/16" x27npt tap & thread the hole , then put in a 1/16 x27 allen socket pipe plug with some sealer on the threads.Throw the old pump in the trash!

changing old bolt with new one ... Theres lot of money!! on my new baby!! :cool:

Rick, I forgot to tell you my Mac doen't have your CDI system , I have to get in contact with you to get one.
