the picture of the left side of the tank appears to have a tear in the tank. Is that what it is or something else ? I am looking for a tank for a Benson. What is the outer material of the tank made of if it needs repair?

Friendly,

What you're seeing in that photo is apparently a "parting line" where the upper and lower halves of the mould closed. If you look closely, you'll see this parting line running all the way up the back sides of the seat too. You can also faintly see the same seem on the right view. There are no tears or cracks in this seat tank.

I'm guessing, but this seat tank is likely made of cross-linked polyethylene... probably rotationally moulded. It feels solid and well built.

Best regards,

John

The seat tank on my dominator is exactly like this one. Same color and everything. Mine has the same mold line. It seems super sturdy, sits good and holds gas without leaking...what more do you want? :D
