You got that right Ron. But maybe the advertising is in having Rusty on the show to begin with. What you are saying is right on.

Ron, unless this is free advertising then that answers your question. There isn't any money for ads!
It is my understanding that ads, the PRA have previously run, have not brought in enough members to make it worth the expenditure.
Rotorcraft promotion is going to have to happen at the local level. And it starts with each PRA member who cares about the organization growing. Recruitment of one new member by each present member solves a whole bunch of problems. And the displaying of machines at various places and participating at local aviation events is likely to provide more promotion than ads.
It has been my local experience that we have received just about all our rotorcraft inquiries and new members thru the PRA and Chapter 62 web site. These people have developed rotorcraft interest from various exposures but I can't remember an ad ever being mentioned. Once they develop an interest then they use the Internet to find us.

Was just a bit nervous during the interview. My first on-air experience. Promise to be more relaxed next time. He would ask a question and I would slowly respond, then start to pick up speed. About the time I was feeling comfortable with a topic he would ask a different question. Roy did an excellent job given what he had to work with, ME. I am in the middle of writing an intro for the magazine in which I will go into more detail. Areas I want to cover over the next few issues; Member services, volunteers, the airport (PRA Mentone Inc.) to name a few. We desparately need a Members only forum on the PRA website. I will make every effort to be open and keep our members informed of PRA business. I will do this through the magazine and the members only forum once it is operational. Non-sensitive issues can be addressed on this forum as well.
Thanks to everyone for supporting the PRA

Magni Autogyros already advertise on this side and if you listen to the show Magni's ad runs at the top of each hour.
(Thank you Greg!)
Since Greg Gremminger is a PRA board member and his website and training support PRA we are in a way represented in part as an advertiser.
Greg, Rusty, Ron A. and Catfish have all been interviewed on this show and Greg is almost a 'regular'. Thank you all for your support.
As Dean correctly stated PRA ads rarely bring enough new members to pay for themselvers and therefore in times of low membership and $ should be avoided.
Ron,
If you would like to fund such an add for Ultraflight Radio or another periodical that would be fantastic. Let me know and I would be happy to add $50.00 to the cause.
Rusty, you did fine. Just got done listening to the whole show and you were right up there with the guys that have been on many times. The host, Roy, does move around a lot with questions and thoughts. I was wondering if he had prepped you in advance, but I bet not.
Good job.

Rusty,
When at Mentone I introduced one of our club members to Tim Blackwell. At least I thought it ws Tim. Anyway, our member volunteered to help out with the web site. He does web sites for a living. Our club website at http://gyroclub.com was done by him.
Check with Tim and see how it's going. Or you can contact Jim directly. His email is at the bottom of the club site.

I hope to catch the podcast also. I changed the main menu on the gyro sample DVDs and added PRA's website address on it. I also put PRA's web site in the info section of the youtube videos. I think youtube has a lot of potential for attracting interested people.
