or PRAChapter34 ftp site.

I used my digital camera to take a picture of my stick shake in my Twinstarr.

The camera takes really crappy video but you can get a basic idea of what's going on.

I have been told many times that you can not eliminate stick shake in a 2-bladed machine that has long rotors.

My machine is a Twinstarr (heavy) with 30 foot blades that have an 8.5 inch cord.

My previous blades RAF 30's I thought were great and had very little stick shake (if you put an imaginary marker pen on the cyclic it would draw a circle about 3cm around) but I replaced them because of trust issues with the hub bar.

My new blades are Sport Copters and the video (taken on the xcntry back from Mentone 06) shows the stick shake. It is only about 1cm (or less) of stick shake!

Please note while watching the video that the camera is shaking and there is some wind buffiting. The camera is moving more than the stick!

Let me know what you think.

Tim, if they're perfectly centered (do that if they're not), try moving them a hair toward one tower and then maybe a hair the other way. You might be able to reduce it even more, but that looks pretty good, especially for a heavy machine. I wouldn't monkey with anything else, like changing the pitch of the blades unless you're rrpm is not where you need it.

Thanks Ken but I'm pleased as I can be and I'm not going to mess with it at all. I consider what I have near zero stick shake.

I would be ok with that much stick shake on a single place much less a flying bathtub like the Twinstarr with 30' rotors and a rigid mast.

Thanks Master Roda! The force IS with you!

Tim old buddy, my stick moves just a bit more than yours. cleaning and waxing my blades takes most of this out. i have 25 foot x 8 inch chord skywheels. they're solid as a rock. my machine is low key compared to yours. yours is probably 400 lbs heavier than mine. i don't see a problem old buddy. i've seen helicopters shake so bad that you would sware that you'll never ride in one again, but i have. this question is better answered by the pro's, i'm new at this .:p

That's a good point to mention. I have 15 hours on my blades now and i have not cleaned the bug juice off of them once.

so you send them the upper section of the twinstarr rotor and they fit theires? SO you have improved 2 things blade and rotor. perhaps the lower section could off improved the shake? as every one said looks great. Now your rod end bearings will love you.

Now I remember if there is play in the stick bushsings? this if improved can help also the vibe.
