Yesterday I had to conduct a flight check for one of my students who owns a beautifully made Raf with our "effective" h/stab. This gyro pilot had achieved 80 hours of solo flight time. The test was to sign him off for carrying passengers.

The day was quite rough, and I just had to sit there and observe. He flew ok and achieved the rating.

Then I got back into Hybrid with my student who had achieved 10 hours in a tin can 2 years ago and 5 hours training with me in Hybrid during the last couple of days. I felt so much more comfortable with the 5 hour student!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gee!!!!! when you have experienced CLT stability, and you hop into an "effective" h/stab equipped Raf you realise just what the term CLT really means.

I was sooooooo happy when we got the "effective" stab operating. After no stab on a Raf I was just so over the moon. Now after CLT Hybrid, the "effective" stabed Raf is a heap of s**t compared to Hybrid.

It is not untill I have to swap ships immediately that I really fully appreciate CLT.

Ok, off my soapbox again and of to bed so that I can try these rotor blades tomorrow.

Aussie Paul.
