Hey Todd, how come all of a sudden I'm getting email notification of threads that I subscribed too?
Actually I have never subscribed to any thread and when I ended up at a place that let me unsubscribe to all threads (can't find my way back!) this afternoon it didn't last since I just received email notice that I had subscribed to another thread. When I checked it showed I was subscribed to three threads. I don't need email notification since I visit often enough to keep up.
Thanx!

Dean,
Go into your User Control Panel, Then Select User options on the left. The second category down is "Messaging and Notification" In there you will find "Default Thread Subscription Mode" Select "Do Not Subscribe" then go to the bottom and save your changes. That should fix you up.

Thanks, Todd! I'm still poking around to learn more about the Forum and I will find features occasionally that I wasn't aware of. But in the process I sometimes get lost when I try to find my way back to something I want to turn on/off. The 'User CP' was outside my tunnel vision I guess.
I've started using the hybrid display mode (set it as a default from the 'User CP) because it displays the individual threads within the main thread. This allows me to see how the messages relate and of course the new messages are highlighted. In other words it shows me who replied to whom within the individual discussions in a thread. This was one of features I missed when Norm changed software.
The one thing I haven't figured out yet is why when I want to reply to a particular message it sometimes ends up as a reply to the starting message in the main thread rather than to a specific person. I haven't experimented enough to determine if it happens when I use the 'Quick Reply' or when I use the 'Post Reply' at the bottom of a thread or if it is something else I'm doing.
There is another thing that is bothersome. I may not have noticed it earlier but it seems that there are times lately (like this a.m.!) when I use the 'Backspace' key, to return from a individual forum to the main forum page, that the forums with new messages lose their highlighting. And 'New Messages' doesn't have any list. This means I have to start looking for the post dates/times to find what I haven't read, more than a little tedious. I normally use the 'Backspace' key to move back to a starting point and most of the time it works. Have any idea what I'm doing to cause this problem?
One of the other features I missed when Norm changed software, was the ability to print out individual messages for reference. If you visited the second of the Rotorcraft.Com iterations you remember at the bottom of each message you could select 'Print' and that one message would be printed and not the whole thread. Now that Mr. Beaty has joined Doug, Al, Greg. G., Raghu and others, this means I won't have to expend as much effort when saving their words of wisdom. Too bad there isn't a way to save a specific message to a personal file. Oh yeah, anyone want to take my reams of Beaty et al wisdom and compile a useful document?!
I recently found that by clicking on the message number in the upper right hand corner of a message header that a window pops up with the standard tool bar. From there I can go to 'Edit' and 'Select All' and then click on 'File' and select 'Print' and I'm in business. Not quite as easy as it was on Norm's conference but I can live with it. And it sure beats the highlighting, cut & paste into the word processor in order to print scenario I was going thru before.
Appreciate your efforts. Hope I don't get a reply from you real quick since that means you had the opportunity to go fly. I'm off to a Chapter 62 meeting myself.
