Group,
Im selling my RAF 2000 or doing a trade with cash for a Sportcopter. Here are the details on the machine.
1998 RAF 2000 GTXSE FI, fuel injected 2.2 liter 130 hp engine, Skyforce color moving map GPS, AK 450 ELT, horizontal stab., electric trim, Snider anti-servo tab, electric trim, Whelen stobe, navigation lights, panel lights, electronic vertical compass, wheel pants,, 2 auxilliary power ports. This aircraft has 264 hours on it and would cost well over $40,000 to build with all of the options.
I just replaced the front spindle and have 2 stabs for it, one that Ken J use to make and one from Aircommand.
I only want 20,000 for the machine, or if you have a sportcopter and want to offer me your bird and money please do so off the list. I chose to list it here first before listing it on barnstormers. The aircraft is certified and N numbered and set up for training. Please contact me off the list. I paid a lot more for this bird than I am asking, but I guess thats the way it goes. The gyro is housed off I95 in NC. Im sure it will go fast at this price, so please dont tire kick.

Can't beat that price, Bill.
Should go quick.
Don't understand why you're chucking it?
Cheers :)

Bill why did you decide to sell the RAF-2000? it looks like a nice machine.

I dont see myself needing two seats and like the sportcopter. Im still flying it because I cant go without flying or I get moody. I prefer to get a sportcopter with money too, but no one has contacted me about that option. I love gyros so Im still going to fly, but the sportcopter seems to fit my needs more. So, anyone with a sportcopter want to upgrade to a RAF? This machine is worth a lot more than I am asking..
If it doesnt move, I will keep flying it with no hurt feelings. I have no ill feelings towards RAF and think it flys just fine, just looking for something smaller.

Bill,
I echo what Harry says. It should move pretty quick at that price. Just be patient and keep flying. Good luck.

I fly my RAF 2000 often as a single seat. I love the performance of it with just me aboard. And I love the fuel-carrying capacity. Makes a good cross-country machine single seat. AND, it has a 4-stroke engine.
I suppose a Vortex could be fun too.;)

Bill, I was just wondering if you were going flying this saturday or Sunday. Wanted to see if I could meet you halfway, maybe Rockingham? I would like to see your gyro.

Ron,
I dont think Im going to fly it anymore until I sell it--just in case I mess it up or something. I very surprised that it hasnt sold at 20,000. There is nothing wrong with the aircraft. I guess people are looking for something for nothing. I have the new stab with winglets too, which is a 800 value from aircommand. Im going to post it on barnstormers if Ed doesnt buy it. I would rather deal with gyro pilots first.

It was only posted for sale on the 26th. Most guys need at least a week to work on their wives.

Bill, I don't want to buy it outright, I need two gyros and a airplane like I need a hole in my head. I love my Dominator, and somewhat reluctant to buy a RAF, but would like the idea of a two place. If you want to talk trades with me give me a call or email sometime between now and Sunday, and if your not too busy Sunday afternoon, maybe I will fly out there and see you. 704-756-4600
In the meantime, how old are the rotorblades, how many hours on them, and have they had any of the hubbar updates done to them?
Is the engine fuel injected? - never mind, I reread the ad and see that it is FI
Is there a radio or transponder?
Does it have stock gear, or did you add the Don Parham main gear set up?
Do you have doors for it?
Cabin heat?

Ron: All I can say is if you ever get the taste of flying out of the wind and in coimfort year round like us northerners...it would not even be a choice. That RAF would be a dandy and its a freakin steal at that price.

Yea Ron
I have not flown an open type but the RAF is a steal at that price. It is everything you asked and probably more. It is almost like mine. Mine is carberated with heat. I don't think you can go wrong. You can do everything to it and still be under the cost of a SH. RAF modified.

A brand new RAF kit is listed at 24,900$ on RAF's website..... I would assume a new kit comes with all the updates and newest blades and hubbar etc...?
Of course Bills ship does have two stabs and some extras like the electric trim, wheelpants and GPS etc....

Ron
The kit 15000
extras 7000
Total investment more than 20,000
Not including the 300 plus hours putting it togeather
Still less than kit or SH

I broke my policy of no flying. I flew around tonight for an hour chasing around a friend in his phantom. IT was a nice flight with smooth winds.
I was really hoping to work a deal with someone who owns a sportcopter but havent heard from anyone. I did notice some fella trying to sell a sportcopter in aerotrader for 30,000. I think he may have bonked his head with that asking price.

I saw that ad too Bill, yeah the guy had to have bonked his head! Of course, Sportcopters are about the most expensive gyros out there. I bet that a new one like that one on Aerotrader would set you back over 25 grand as a kit, about the same a Standard RAF kit costs.
Thom, I know Bills price is good, not making any arguements there.

IMO...Anyone looking to own a two place enclosed gyro and don't at least travel and eyeball this machine...has rocks in their head, or would rather look for the Golden Grail.
I still can't believe it's offered for 20K.
Cheers :)
