Todd

For the past couple of days --I have had a lot of problems --When In click on a topic I often get a "cannot display " message --also it takes an awful long time to log on --and sometimes when I highlight and click on something --nothing happens--

At first I thought it might be my computer --but not so --this is the ONLY website it occurs on -I am a member of a Diesel Forum, Jeep Forum, Aeronca forum, Chinese Tractor forum and several other forums --this is the only place where Im having problems -- any cures coming?

Mike is right inspite of all the joking. I have been having trouble with the site also. It reacts slowly, loads slowly, & sometimes takes several attempts to pull up one item. Todd, can you have a look? Thanks

I have tried on several computers Mike, but have not had this problem crop up. I'll keep poking around though.

Happens once in a while, but its not something serious it could be overloaded server or web connection.

Actually dont know much about these things. Living with it and very thankful.

Looking at internet-weather reports over the past few days, there have been some ugly pairing problems and some bad net-to-net latency.

One of my clients could not log in to his site... he lives just a few miles away, but his home ISP and my upstream pair 800 miles away from here in Washington, DC, and that pair had a >1000 ms latency most of Monday and Tuesday!

On top of that, I've had several power failures. The power company says it is premises cabling, namely a buried cable (1978 vintage) that has an intermittent short in one of the three phases... which causes one of the three different light circuits and one of the three different receptacle circuits in the building to drop.

It takes 2 hours for the power guys to reset it, once they get here... which is 1:30 more than I can count on my UPSes. ARRGGHH.

cheers

Mike I was having a problem also. Had to disable my Norton for a while. It was my firewall. Went with the windows firewall for a while. Seems to be working ok now.

Mark,
Try clearing your webpage cache and cookies under the tools/ internet options menu. You will have to re log in to the site after that.

Hi Guys,

I've been out of town the past few days and only checked the forum a couple times...mostly just to make sure it was up and running. I just now read this post.

The "Server Farm" that hosts the forum sent an e-mail a couple days ago that they were working on a couple issues that may be related to speed issues. When the majority of people are not having problems, I tend to think its an ISP or firewall issue.

Mike & Mark, are you still having problems?

Todd, thanks for the update. I guess the server maintainance times coincided with our usage time. That would 'splain it. Much obliged!!
