I am pretty sure that I am going to put a pair of dragon wings on Hot Pants (the gyro formerly known as Peg Leg). I weigh 224 pounds after my morning wiz..so about 229 dressed and ready to fly. Is there some forumula or rules of thumb that tell me what size rotor blade would be best?

Your weight plus the gyro weight, call Ernie and He will tell you what you need, probably 23 footers.

Screw-in

Dragon Wings operate best at 1.3lbs per square foot. Like scott said, add your wieght to the gyros weight to get you All Up Weight (AUW).

Divide your area (A) of any givin set of rotor blades into AUW the to figure lbs. per square ft.

A= Pie R Square

22 Foot Blades have an are of 379.94 square ft.

23 foot blades have an area of 415.27 square ft.

24 footers have an area of 452.16 sqf

Say gyro and you wiegh 560lbs AUW....560\415.27 = 1.35lbs per square ft. This is ballpark, but Ernie will put you right.

I want to fly it here before I bring it down there. Rotorhawk shold have the right bolt and should have told joe he would need it. before shipping the plate.

"Aircraft Spruce is just down the road..." Ohhhhh, that would be a bad thing for me... I like to think I have self control. I don't, I just like to think it!:D

Scott has a drawback to being around the corner from Spruce.... it is called Georgia State Sales Tax!

I wish I lived near spruce Scott. All too often I need just a few bolts or screws, or something else small, where sales tax would only be a dollar or two, but I hold off on ordering it cause shipping is always at least 6-8 bucks. but like the other day when I ordered about 450$ worth of stuff, and got the guy to throw in free shipping I save alot of money on tax!!!

I wonder if you could order from the california Spruce and avoid the sales tax on the expensive stuff you might need?
