This weekend I ventured out of the nest on a 1.5 hr flight around the NC/SC border. The temps stayed low during the flight, but started to rise later that evening when I went up again. What can I say, Im a gyro junkie and cant get enough of the feeling. I still dont like gyro take offs though. Flyin and landing is fine with me, but the take offs bug me a little still. I think it will be better when I move the landing gear back this week because the nose wants to fly up waaaaay too soon on this bird even when its loaded..

Sounds like you're really hooked, Bill. Enjoy it all...even the TO's.
When that nose starts to get a little lite...start the forward pressure on the stick and keep increasing the pressure to keep the nose from rising, until you've reached your flying speed. Then relax the forward pressure to start climbout.
Another thought here, Bill. If you maintain your cruise trim at all times...TO and Landings...you will, depending on the wind at TO...need fwd. stick pressure to keep the nose from rising too soon.
Especially with that barn door you got back there.
Cheers :)

Bill: Once you leave the nest....you will wonder forever. That RAF of yours is a nice machine. The more you fly it...the more it will grow on you. I remember it took me 40-50 hours...then I was real comfortable in it.
Enjoy that nice set of wings you have...:)
