Hello,
Recently joined the PRA through a very generous recruitment donation from Mr. Tony Stiles. I got a card in the mail the other day saying I'm a new member. I was kinda thinking I would get some introductory info on the PRA or at least a magazine. I'm interested in seeing some new info on who's doing what and where, where to buy parts, plans or kits from. I was thinking at least a little welcome pamplet was comming to enlighten me as to where and what the PRA is doing for the sport these days. I was so excited to get my membership card the other day but am I missing something? Did I miss my first issue of the magazine? I know the mag is Bi-monthly so this might be why I haven't gotten one yet.
P.S. Just went to the PRA website and it looks like they are updating it nicely. All kinds of info on the gyro manufacturers. Websites looking good!

Mark,
Other than the semi-regular arrival of the magazine, nothing much will happen. It will be just as hard to pick up women, you will not be able to cure the sick, and your brain and body will continue to age. The real benefit to belonging to PRA is the people you will meet and what you can learn from them. Making "something" happen is up to you. Join a PRA chapter, attend fly-ins, and chase the dream. Stay home and you've got a little card and a magazine. The people and the flying beats reading about it!

:D chase the dream and make the dream come through. easier said than done, but it can be a reality. all of us have had to work hard to learn how to fly our gyro's. the big pay off of being one of the guy's at a fly in is what it is all about. don't sit on this. make it happen for yourself and you will thank god and every one that got you there. now go get it - big guy. good luck:D

Bob,
Thanks for replying here for me. I see that your my neighbor and you fly my kinda gyro. What I'm needing to know now is do I have to join a local chapter? If so how much is it to Join chapter 20 here in Louisiana? I'm trying to ease my Wife into this thing that she wants no part of and already has threatened to leave if I built or bought one. I have been scratching some parts together for the last couple years. Now I have a nicer building to work out of thanks to Hurricane Rita. I'm still cleaning up around here and slowly tearing down my old garage. My aircraft mechanic buddy Charlie "CJ" Jeffers who used to work out at Grumman is helping me out some with structural ideas. When he's not telling lies he's a pretty decent guy. Charlie and I are both disabled so we have time to sit around and pinch pennies and tell stories. I used to go to you neck of the woods to the Dequincy chicken/rabbit auction every weekend. I think maybe I have seen you up there? Anyway, is chapter 20 PRA the only one presently in Louisiana? Thanks!

wow! i finally got some one around me that wants to fly gyro's. chapter 20 is probably the best group of guy's you will ever want to meet. they took me under thier wings and guided me though all my training. i had to take most of my ground schooing in abbeville, but it was a god send for me. the abbeville boys taught me so much and my skill level is getting beter all the time. mike gaspard and mike morgan allowed me to come over almost every weekend and they would give me all kinds of pointers. i owe these guys more then i can say. rod reed and gary hall helped me alot, too. i got advice from all of them. all the members are the best bunch of guys and your going to have alot of fun getting to know them. i would contact mike gaspard for any advice you may need for your gyro. i know how to fly and have been flying for 2 years now. he has been my mentor and trouble shooter on my 582. call me tommow around 9am. and we can talk about all this. i will be in and out all day and will get back with you if 9 am was to early or late. 625-2504 bob simmons:D

Ralph,
So it won't help with the girls? Shoot, I thought they would be in line for me to show em my card. My mail lady thinks my little white and purple Geo Tracker is sexy. Maybe she has my first edition of the PRA magzine in her little postal truck. Gotta watch em around here! My Four Wheeler magazines already come late far too often. Now I'm gonna have to corner her for sure.
