I'm posting publically my progress in building and flying my Mosquito ultralight helicopter, including (sometimes embarassing) videos of my practice flights.
I have a total of about 1.6 hours on it now. The website will be updated as I fly more.

Please, go get some instruction! Some of your videos are scary as hell to watch, being basically out of control with people & vehicles way too close for comfort.

Ditto what Brett said; didn't look safe to me, test flying in a neighborhood.

Thanks for the suggestion, however things are much farther away than they appear in the videos (telephoto lenses do that) (hundreds of feet). I have more than 30 hours of instruction and a more than 100 hours in helicopters.

In one of them you were trying to hover near a small hill, which you then managed to land partially on - that could have been a lot uglier.
Regardless of how much helicopter time & instruction you currently have, you clearly need more for this machine. Cheaper & safer to do that, than repair your helicopter or yourself! It's not worth risking your helicopter, much less your life, when it's so easy to get training.

Yes, that was close. I am a bit rusty. I'm glad I had the roll bar on. The center of gravity was too far back. I'm fixing that. I thought it felt pretty good the last time
I tried it. Remember this is the initial breakin of a brand new helicopter and some adjustments are done after each flight. Next time I'm adding another pound in front to center it even more. The next trials are in the middle of a square mile of desert -- not much to hit. After about <30 minutes of flying I felt I was doing pretty well. When it feels right, I'll take off the roll bar, and do the S-turns etc. for quite a while.
I appreciate your suggestions. If after another hour of practice with the roll bar I don't feel I have it down pat, I'll take another hour or two in an R22.

If you brush up on an R22, you'll also be able to tell us how similar they handle :)
I'm looking forward to hearing more about the Mosquitos as more people start flying them, it's certainly in a class by itself from a price standpoint - really makes me want one! Keep sharing as you get more time on it...

Hoyt, loved the video clip, job well done. from the Video it looks like it may be a bit tail heavy, unless you where putting in some rear cyclic. at the end it sounded like it lost power. I was wondering what it makeing the chirping sound, it it the main blades or tail rotor? Over all very nice Job, Mike Driggers here in N.C. has built one also and has been testing it, he is on here under the name Madd Dogg.look him up and am sure you 2 would enjoy talking to each other.
keep us posted on the progress.
