Anyone have any knowledge or opinions about this stuff? It's supposed to last a lifetime in the cooling system....or is this more "mad scientist" stuff?

No Ken, it's for real. Small print on the jug redefines "lifetime" as however long you can fly until the coolant causes engine failure.
Seriously, some car manufacturers have claimed for years that their coolants or transmissioin fluids were "lifetime." They usually had disclaimers that this was only in light duty use, and there's nothing light-duty about the way gyroplanes use their converted car engines.
