I've finally gotten the gallery that I've been talking about up and running. You can access it from home page at:
http://www.rotaryforum.com/
There is a link in the left column. Check it out.

I hope that everyone will dig into their archive of pictures and work on adding files to the gallery. If you have any problems, let me know.

Those are nice pictures of you and your machine, Todd. It looks like it might be a little hilly and a little chilly there. It's good to finally see you enjoying yourself with your Dominator.

GREAT!
Todd what is the Max Size?

Thanks for the compliments on my machine. Actually Chuck, the weather has been fantastic here. We've been in the 70's for a few days. I flew this evening because its supposed to cool off back down in the 50's this week.
The max size on the gallery pictures is HUGE. I think 1024x1024 & 2MB. Maybe larger, I can't remember.
C'mon Folks, lets upload some pictures.

Todd,
I will post a bunch tomorrow. I think the Gallery is very cool.
Anyway to post a link in the forum section too?

I agree with Tim re: a link to the forum section. I never saw that cover page
until I followed your link to it, Todd. I always sign in directly to the forum page.
I don't have any gyro pictures. Are pictures of other aircraft types welcome as
well?
Thanks Todd.

How do you add a photo to the gallery?

I've just fixed two problems with the gallery. Hopefully everything will be working well now. First I switched off the review feature so now pictures get immediately posted, second, the gallery was logging me out after 2 or 3 minutes. I found the fix for that and it should be working now. Please let me know of any other problems.
Ken, Go into any category then in the upper right corner there is an arrow marked "upload" click that and your on your way.

As everybody, I like to use as wallpaper images I get from the web. When using Internet Explorer all I have to do is to click over the image using right mouse button. A pop-up menu is shown with an option along the lines "set as wallpaper", or whatever. This doesn't work with pictures from the gallery. :(
I want barnstorm flight as my wallpaper, as I always do!
Can something be done to surround that denying message?
Jucie,
Should be able to go to the bottom of the photo you want and select download. Save to your desktop. Then open it on your desktop and right click, save as wallpaper

Todd,
Still kinda hard to get from the Forum to the Gallery and back. Any luck finding a way to add a link from the forum section?

Tim,
I'm sorry, I still haven't had time. Its on my list of to do's. If you're lucky, the weather will be crappy this weekend, and I won't get much flying time in, thus freeing me up to maybe work on the forum. If I'm lucky, I'll be flying all weekend :)
barnstorm2,
If you want I can talk...errr type you through how to set up two quick links. This will let you enter the forum or gallery anytime you have your browser (Internet Explorer) open. Similar to setting up a "Favorites" or "Bookmark" depending on the browser (IE, Firebird, Advanced etc..) The two links would be located on your toolbar (you may already have some there) and in your "Favorites".

One thing that works is just clicking on the main heading "Rotary Wing Forum" This will jump you back and forth from the Home Page to the Forum. At the home page, when you click on gallery it opens in a new window.

Todd and Chad,
Thanks for the tips, I was actually thinking more for the general public as the gallery does not seem to be getting the kind of traffic I would expect.

I still need to get links working, I was just giving a little work-around for now.
Todd,
I've searched daily for a week! There is no link to the gallery! The mainpage says it's on the left, it's not! -- or the right, top, bottom, in any forum listing or any drop-down menu. After reading through every post on the topic three times, I FINALLY found a link in your 4/11/04 post.
Would you please delete the Gallery advertisment on the main page until it's actually true?

If you go to the home page or portal at:
http://www.rotaryforum.com/
In the left margin is a group called "Rotary Extras"
The first link is: "Rotary Wing Gallery"
If the gallery will not open up for you, its probably because you have some type of pop up blocker installed on your computer and the gallery opens in a new window.
Todd,
Tried that, no help. Even completely exited, then re-logged in; no change. My screen looks exactly like the one above, minus the Extras Box.
Can someone out there back me up?
WN,
If you list your setup (browser and OS) maybe someone can give you some options to try?

Hi Chad, (FYI Todd)
I've got an internet provider and use that to log on to AOL. Within AOL the upload button on the gallery does not work for me. If I enter through Internet Explorer (outside AOL) the button works. It must be some type of blocker. However, the Gallery area always came up and worked in both AOL and IE. Hope this helps.

WN,
Very strange, Here's the direct link. I would just click it and save in your favorites for now:

Russell,
I just fixed it, there was an incorrect setting for the Bensen Days category.
Your images are up now, and others should upload without a problem.
Thanks,
Todd

Todd: When I go to the gallery and click on anything listed, I get a message that it is a copyright. It will not open for me. Also, when I log in, I'm not listed in the "Members logged in" column. What am I doing wrong?

Tom,
I get the same message when I right click on an image but never when I left click. Are your mouse buttons turned around? If you're logged into the forum, then go over to the gallery, you should show up as a logged in user. I'm not sure what the problem is there. Take another look - try each of the mouse buttons, see if one works. Also try "reloading" the page to see if it recognizes you as logged in.
Let me know
Todd
