Have a look at this Oz thread,

http://www.asra.org.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1625

and you can see why I sometimes feel I am banging my head up against a brick wall!!!

Although, the good news is that since I got up on my stability soap box a few years ago, the majority of homebuilt gyros are now being built CLT. It does not help when people like this guy, says that CLT is a state of mind!!! He is obviously a profficient unicycle rider!! BUT should not try to influence a newbie.:(

Paul, do you get the PRA magazine? I had an article in there last summer that details the double hang test method of locating CG. I suppose CG IS a state of mind (or rather a state of ignorance) until you test for its location.

Doug, these people, fortunately becoming fewer and fewer, won't even conduct the procedure to find where their gyros CoM is. Because they can ride/fly the unicycle, they seem to think that everyone should have to do it the hard way!!!!!

I conduct the CoM measurement by the two pic method, one during the hang test and one balancing on the mains with the rotors fitted.

Anyway, keep an eye on what happens on that Oz forum topic please.

There is no doubt about that Brian, and I reckon it is great. The frustrating part for me is knowing that I was exactly the same up until 1999.

The only things I had in my favour were the desire to learn, and understand, and the help on Norm's forum. I sure gave them a difficult time!!!!:D
