Yes lot's of instructors in the Carolinas and Georgia. The closest one is Gary Neal who flys out of a Airport called State Line which is near the peach water tower of I-85. You could take I-26 from Asheville to highway 11 and cut over towards 85, Stateline is near Cowpens battleground. Gary can be reached at 864-583-4319 He trains in a RAF 2000
There is also Rusty Nance who trains in a Dominator out of Aiken S.C. but I am not sure if he has time for students right now or not. I can get you his number if you want it.
Also there is Maxie Wildes near Savannha Georgia who trains in a tandem aircommand. His instructor is slightly cheaper by the hour and is considered Ultralight instruction, not loggable towards a private pilots certificate. If you want like to contact Maxie let me know and I will get you his number.
You also might want to consider joining PRA chapter 13 which is your closest chapter. Dues are 15$ a year and we have a great newsletter and also put on the rotors over carolina fly in every Fall. Good group we have at chapter 13.
