I see so many people have either signed up and never posted or only post once in a while, or we will have a ton of visitors viewing the site.

Don't you guys have anything to add to the discussions here? Get involved, post a story about yourself. Go to off topic and tell us a joke or something.Stop Lurking!

Yes! People, think: if JuciĘ can do it then anybody is able to do! :)

Well in response to Ron's post. I only get a chance to check the forum from work. So I don't usally have a lot of time to respomd to any posts.

But there seems to be enough people more knowledgeable than I. Their posts seem to be agree with what I know and are worded better than what I can post.

Occasionally I'll stick in my 2 cents. But I try to keep it brief.

It is not about who is smarter than who here, and that is what I like about it. ANYONE here can post and add something to the mix. Let the experts have at the tech questions and the rest of us can still have plenty of places to add to this forum.

Ron just as I was about to ask some questions about the B8M, Jose jumped in there ahead of me and asked about everything I could think of. :) Thanks Jose

Ron, you'd be surprised how much you can learn just by lurking.

The reason why I rarely post is because I'm not a pilot, and I don't often feel I have any information worthwhile to post. I'm still learning.

I'm sure this will all change when/if I get around to building and training. You won't be able to shut me up.

Ron,

I don't have a gyro
Don't even have a plane.
To keep my foot out of my mouth
from posting I refrain.

So I just keep on reading
I'm learning something new.
Hopefully one day I'll be
a gyro guy like you!

(are ya happy now?)

Hi,
I tend to lurk and my insight includes less than positive answers and replies. (Much improved of late) - The answers tend to be more of a soap box for some. (but again, much improved) I would like to see other lurkers give there 2 cents worth. Heck, it really doesn't hurt all that much. :)

Also, Lurking is fun!

Ron,

this word made a great career after first used on the Aus forum.

I try not to lurk, as you probably have noticed, but I am just a wannabe in gyro and on my way to be a fixed wing flier.

I try my best to post questions and anwsers, but am not sure if it helps anybody except me.

To give more about me, I am just going to buy an Experimental class fixed wing (SP-YGT) and do my PPL.

Then I will try a gyro, maybe PolishCopter.

Enclosed my (maybe) future plane at preflight (I am on the student seat.....) and in front of some An-2 fat guys.

Nice plane, Paul. It looks like it might do 200 to 250 mph. What is the HP?

Gyrochuck: I would really like to hear some of your gyro flying experiences....your adventures in learning to fly the R-22 as well. You remind me of digging for oil. I bet if we drill with the right questions...ol gyrochuck will be a gusher.:)

Everyone has something to add to the forums here. Like Georges Poem - I loved BTW - Have fun with it and join in.

Ron: Good thread you started.:)

We all can add by posting. Everyone has a different angle of thinking...

You have a very wide experience base and you are willing to share. You have a passion for flying that is a catalyst for your many posts that we all are learning from.

I like to contribute back what experiences I have...
and I find its just as interesting to read about a newbie learning to fly as well as someones more advanced stages of flying.

We all are here to learn...I have gotten a ton of info off this site and am just trying to pay back.

This site is really starting to rock.

Stan

Chuck,

thanks, but it's just 450 kg MTOW with 80 hp Rotax.
It only looks so good, but it's fun anyway.
With this engine it goes 130 mph (Vne is 160).
With 100 hp Rotax max level speed is 150 mph.

Before I get more experienced it should be good enough.

I haven't posted because I feel I really don't have much to contribute, hopefully that will change with time
through norms forum and now this one all my questions have been answered
I am a new bee but have been a member with pra for 3 years.
at that time I bought a half built gyro(kb2 w/mac) from a fellow who inherited it.
I have completed it and its ready to fly, I think?
now I just need to get the operator up to speed(me)
I am up in northern Minnesota, not much gyro activity this way.
there is a fellow about 300 miles away that has one and I have corresponded with him a few times.
everyone I have talked to regarding gyros has been more than willing to answer questions
I had posted on the other forum a few questions and my new bee status and I got a barrage of GET LESSONS and almost felt I was intruding on some sacred ground and some felt if they answered it would lead to me trying to fly with out any lessons.
around the 20th I am going to the Philippines for work and should be back may 31st, I am planning a couple weeks off to take some lessons, any suggestions on a instructor kind of close?
if you want you could e-mail me directly as to not offend anyone with negative post
guyothorson@aol.com
I am finding this forum to be a little gentler than the other, no offense to anyone but the bickering got old, constructive criticism is one thing but to slam someone for the ideas they have is another
I haven't had any drugs for about 30 years but I do plan on getting high this summer

Hey Ron, OK, I hear you--look for my post; I need some advice.

Guyo,

please don't forget to tell us about your lessons (what you fell, what you think, how you learn), ok?

just because someone chooses not to post on a forum doesn't mean they should be called names with negative connotations, (i.e."lurkers.")

It's okay folks. You can read postings and not have to reply or start new threads or anything. :D

A "lurker" in general is not a derogatory term, unless someone makes it out to be. I lurk on varying newsgroups and forums and only pipe in rarely when it's something I wish to comment on. On some that I've been lurking on for years, I've never posted. If someone has a prejudicial problem with "lurkers," "newbies," "redheads," "hardware-store clerks" or whatever, that doesn't mean everyone shares that view.

Ken, if I were member of a group and eventualy knew such a creative guy as you were just reading without ever writing a single line, then I would get very pissed of!

Hey, I just think you guys are so dadburn smart I don't have much to add.
Some of us are turkey lurkers.

Hey, I've got a question. Anybody with experience or theory about ditching (ie water landing without pontoons) in gyros? I assume some similarity to chopper ditching, but correct me, please.

I suppose there are different definitions of a luker and mine is those 'guests' we see at the bottom of the screen monitoring the Forum that never register.

Those that register and don't post are probably the more intelligent ones! But they know that they have the right and ability to do so at any time once they are registered. It is a case of 'Keeping your mouth shut and being thought a fool than opening it and removing all doubt!'.

Guyo,

Don't take the explosion of "Get lessons!" comments the wrong way. Everyone wants to keep you alive. Bensen gyrocopters have a long history of being unkind to the impatient.

O JuciĘ, I lurk on some automobile sites that talk about Soobs. Once in awhile I get a tip or something, but can't contribute anything about cars. I like to check out what the Rotorway folks are up to as well as homebuilders. Most of that is F-W, but it's sometimes interesting.

Ok, here's a "learning story". I kept reading about downwind turns in PRA and was actually getting sick of hearing about it. Well, guess what?

Now, this will not turn into a discussion because I know it can carry on forever. I just thought it was a good picture. By the way, this was a long time ago and I know better now. :o
