Greetings, all. Glad to have found some fellow enthusiasts. I've been flying a Bensen/Brock style machine, Rotax 503, Skywheels, for about 15 years. Sad to say, I haven't found many gyro people in the inland northwest where I'm now located. Any of you out there?

Hi Bob,

Yep, I'm right here. Fly from Ellerport which is the small private strip by Newman Lake, just off of Trent. I've been flying my Dominator in the area for a couple years now. What airport are you flying from. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome, Bob.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a group of gyro enthusiasts in central Oklahoma. Maybe you will be able to find some in your area.

Alan

Wow Todd, I just looked on a map. I'm surprised you and CopterBob haven't had any near-misses with each other while you've been out flying. You guys are pretty close to each other.

That area is staring to look like the epicenter of gyro activity.

We don't have quite the density of Florida or the Carolinas, but we're working on it. Randy Coplen is doing his best to fulfill the decree of "A Sparrowhawk in Every Hangar". :) Jim Vanek has been producing some the finest crafted gyros available for many years now. Both the Portland PRA chapter and Seattle chapter have regular meetings with respectable turnouts. We're trying to catch up on this side of the state.

Hi, Todd
I usually fly out of Hackney up in Athol, and a few times out of Coeur d'Alene though the traffic is starting to get too heavy (and large!) at times. The sudden housing buildup all over the prairie is not leaving a lot of places left to race around on the deck. I towed it out to Davenport last year and got some great flying in. Speaking of Florida, I lived there and flew my gyro every weekend for years before moving out here. Had great fun with a couple of gyro flying buddies flying down the beach every weekend.
