Thanks for posting those pics, Paul.
I was going to do the same yesterday, had my camera along too, and forgot to set it up.
RAF also called these tools...tracking tools. I prefer to call 'em *pitch adjusting tools* as one can change the pitch to either gain or lower rotor rpm.
Cheers :)

....IMHO tracking bars is still the best decription. They are extremelly handy tools for the procedure that Raf use to adjust the pitch of thier blades.
1) to get the rotors in track you have much better control over how much you change the pitch on one blade at each adjustment. It takes out the "Hit and miss" with those Raf adjusting hex head screws. You can sneak up at say 20 or 40thou at a time and see whether you are improving the situation.
2) when you finally have them in the track that has the blades smooth, you can change the rrpm and still keep them smooth.

Once the blades are tracked...you wouldn't change the pitch to only one blade?!
To increase or lower rrpm...it would be necessary to make the exact same pitch change to both blades...
Cheers :)

Exactly Harry.
You only change one blade if you are fine tuning the tracking to a smooth ride, which Kenny J has said many times might not be perfectly in track.
