PowerFin Prop hub - not the entire prop, just the aluminum three blade hub - 75mm Rotax holes.

If you are going to buy a three blade PowerFin prop you can buy this hub for $50 and then just buy the three new blades. That should save you about $75 overall.

Good condition. Used for less than 5 hours flight time.

Steven,

It will NOT fit the 912S engine. It has a 1" hole in the center and the 912 requires a 47mm hole.

I just looked at the new CPS catalog. It lists Powerfin Model F left turning 3-blade prop with Apex hub for $649.95. The blades are listed at $174.95 each. So, $174.95 x 3 = $524.85 + $50 for hub = $574.85. Compared to the $649.95 = $75.10 savings, not the $100 to $150 I thought. I will change my original post to reflect this.

The hub alone is listed at $174.95, which would be a $124.95 savings. Apparently buying the entire assembly is a better deal than buying the parts separetly.

P.S. Powerfin recommends a 4-blade 69", or 3-blade 72" prop for the 912S.

Steven,

I'm in the same boat with you. Still making up my mind.

I won't be using the Warp Drive, however. I know they are solid and strong, but when the do break they are so heavy that they can and do tear the engine off the aircraft. The light props, which I favor, cause no harm other than a vibration. I'd rather replace a prop or prop blade than an engine or reduction gear.

The Kiev Prop may be the best of both worlds - light, strong, metal inlaid leading enge, quiet, efficient. Hum ... maybe I'm leaning towards the Kiev prop.

Being an architect, I like beauty in addition to function and I think a white prop will look better on my gyro and be safer - you can see it when it spins better than black. All props can be painted, but the Kiev Prop comes standard in white. I guess I'm talking myself into the Keive prop while I type. But the Arplast sure has an excellant reputation and it comes in white too.

Ok, I'll through in one used 68" diameter Powerfin prop blade for $35 more.

So if you want a 68" Powerfin prop, you can get the hub and one blade from me and only have to buy 2 new blades. What a deal!

(Go to the top post to see and read about it)

Just add two blades and you have 68" Powerfin prop - at a good savings!
