(c) on a east or west heading, ...ANDS...accel north, deccellarate south.

C - The compass axis tilts back toward you from inertia and allows the N magnet to seek a downward alignment with the earth's field in the Northern Hemisphere. This permits to compass to rotate cw from a westerly heading, thus the indication is toward the south.

"C" is the correct answer. I was also waiting to see someone (Paul) post that memory aid, ...ANDS... Thanks Paul and the rest. Accelerate North, Decelerate South, when on east/west headings in the Northern Hemisphere.

ANDS and UNOS used to work Ok for me at home in Colorado, but when I had to get a license down under in Australia they teach SAND and something else-- now I'm so confused I don't even remember which way the water goes out of the toilet bowl.
