I was down at Macon today, hanging out with all the Steve McGowan students. I was flying down the runway and practicing getting back on the runway.
I had just landed after a crow-hop and pulled the cyclic to the rear and was gradually increasing power, and got to point of ballancing and POW! My cyclic handle broke off ! Not the whole handle, just the plastic military style grip. It just broke and came off in my hand! :o Needless to say I was puckered badly.
After looking at the remains of the grip, it looks like the stick only goes up into the handle about 1 1/2" and not all the way through.
Just an FYI, if you have an old plastic handle, you might want to check it.
I will be making a new cyclic handle from the bottom up out of 304 stainless this week!
