HI Every one. I just became a owner of a Raf that I bought from a gentleman that had it in storage for a number of years. I was building a tandem open frame when I run in to this deal. I want to change it to clt. I plan on using Don P landing gear and making it a drop keel. This would be very similar to the sparrow hawk. I have many questions to ask the forum. Can the stock reduction drive be turned 180 degrees. Would a longer keel be a benefit, and should the main axel be widened out and how much? What is the benefit of pop rivets over bolts? Why not just get the AAI modification kit for the RAF which will give it 90% of the improvements of a SparrowHawk. It will be far safer and better designed than anything you are likely to come up with on your own.
