Hello to all,
My name is Don Butterworth. I am a newbie to the forum. I retired about two years ago from Verizon after about 35 years. In the early 70's I flew a rogallo wing ( Triangle hang Glider ) and 10 or 15 years ago I tried the paraplane. Both were fun but their application was limited and both were
impossible to share with others. So here we are in 2005 and the situation is quite different. The kids are almost grown and gone , I am retired , and I think gyros need to be re-evaluated.
I have a brother Tom that had a similar history and we both decided its time for gyros. We took a trial flight with Chris Burgess at Frederick , Md.
( I have to agree with other posts I have read - Chris is Top Notch!)
Now if the weather would cooperate I could begin my gyro career.
I am currently considering a gyrobee build.
Alas , the weather will remain cool till spring. And cleaning out the garage
for a new vehicle will take some time. Hopefully I'll get started soon and
post some meaningful messages.
