A member of our EAA chapter was at the factory in Kindersley and went for a ride in an RAF 2000, he enjoyed the flight but could not keep it from hunting up and down in pitch, I asked him if it had a H.S on it and he said it had a stabilator on the mast.

He also told me that RAF is trying to get a radio controlled RAF 2000 working for some Israelis.

That ought to prove interesting, I hope they know more about automated flight than they know about aerodynamics.

Anyone know if they actually kept one flying by radio control with no one in it?

Hehehehehehe - this is utterly beautiful; RAF have finally found a way to make their aircraft safe to fly.... :D :D :D

But what about anyone on the ground, unless they test fly it in the middle of the Sahara?

I've always thought that a RC gyro could be beneficial, no matter what make or model, to prove and disprove flight characteristics without putting a test pilot in danger.
