Yes I did, I didn't have any luck, but I am able to run the engine using a magnetic pickup and some Dyna coils. It runs a tad rough at idle but it revs up nice and seems to make good power. It will get me through the rest of my training. No cross country flights!

Hey one of the guys down at Steve's has a bensen with A Mac 72, and it has the ARD box and coils on it. One of yours?

He needs to find some expansion chambers for it and get rid of the cherry bombs.

Yes Scott, that is the C.D.I. module & coils that come with my system.

As far as pipes go Hulan Burnett was the guy that makes the expansion chambers for the Mac. I had him make me 3 sets a couple of years back. He had`nt made any for many years but with some sweat talking I was able to get those made. They are all sold. He lives in Ga,so you might get LUCKY!

I heard that becouse of the big spark it creates, you can even use normal 93 octain gasoline. :)

Jose, you should use 100LL in your Mac. Ask Charles what he used in the machine before you got it from him. Hopefully you can buy 100LL in PR.

Rick,
I have a KB-2 with a mac engine. The gyro registered where I work in Holland, even though I have done all my flyinig in the UK. It seems to start and run OK but I am worried about the 'mac attack'. It seems that you really have to be prepared for 'the sound of silence' if you run a mac. How do I get one of your CDI Magnetos? I saw photos of Dave Mikesell's and also on this forum. Any help welcome. Thanks.
Alan

I bought a CDI from Rick last week. It was mailed to me promply and Rick was very good about returning my phone calls as well as emails. Rick also helped me with some other items for my Mac. I was going to post this to the forum after I installed the unit with several installation pictures (your services are going to be needed Mike Gaspard) , but since the thread is open, I want every one to know, I am please with my purchase and service. I would recommend ADR to anyone with a Mac. Thanks again Rick,

Rick, I did not tell you that I installed my CDI for Christmas, threw a little fogging oil in the cylinders and pulled the prop 3 three times then Bam BAM BAM , my Mac was growling. Man what a leaf blower that Tenn. Prop makes!! Now I have no excuse not to dress up the rest of the gyro.
