Got up this morning to get down to Herbert Smart (Steve's Place) early. I showed around 0900 hours and Steve was in the air and Scott was Crow hopping down the runway.

That Scott is a Hellava fellow. When I got parked, I looked over and my Gyro was already pulled out and in the seat was one of Scotts custom made adjustable trim mechanisms ready to install.

As we were installing we noticed the large amount of traffic around the airport and planes flying everywhere. Must have something to do with the airshow this weekend. After installation, Steve took "DaScrew-Driver up and got her all trimmed out. After landing we noticed the high engine temps again.

Scott volunteered to get with Rick Ambercrombie and see how he can fashion some cowling to better direct the air over my cylinders. What a guy! ;D And he is also making up a mount for my GPSIII.

I got a couple of Aircommand tanks from Heron and I'm gonna donate those to Scott so he can keep his boat tank in the boat.

By the time all was said and done I strapped up to go fly and as I was rolling to the appropriate taxiway (Don't ask), Steve put the brakes on it and called me back. The winds just picked up way too strong for any of us. We rolled all of the gyros back in the barn and I was home by 2:00pm.

Better flying next week. The airshow we will keep us grounded through the weekend.

And next week may be IT! That looks like the last week we will have with Steve around. I need to get that crow hopping thing down better. My takeoff was good, my landing SUCKED! I guess that's why we are training! ;D
Thanks for the kind words John, I will be working on that GPS mount as soon as I find some suitable tubing. I will keep you posted.

I haven't been getting to the forum much lately, but I sure do second what John says re. Scott--super nice guy. He also made me an adjustable trim like John's, and made my rudder pedals fit me just right, and a rotor brake, and many other things that got my gyro going so I could at least make some flights down the runway while Steve was still there. Both Scott and Steve did a lot of work getting my machine airworthy, and I can't tell them how much it is appreciated.
