I my opinion, this is important. The answer is in a netural and natural position where the pilot (you) are comfortable and have easy movement equally in both directions. If you are pionting your toes or holding them back too much you can get leg cramps on long flights.

Every pilot is different. Some will have straight legs and some have knees bent a lot, depending on the length of their legs. Fit your gyro to you, if you are to be the main (or only) pilot.

Thanks Ken, Am I right in thinking if I push the right one forword the left one will move back?

Dave,
You are correct. Get someone to help you with this, it will make life "much gooder" for you.

Chris, Thanks I thought I was right but then again I should have checked where they were before I started cutting.

Dave,

After you finish installing the cables you can adjust their length some by twisting them. With one end fixed, disconnect the other end and twist it one way to tighten the cable threads - shortens the cable. Twist the other way to loosen the cable threads - lengthens the cable. This is handy to fine tune the length to get the pedals just where you want them.

I hook my cables to the pedals first. On the rudder end, instead of crimping the cable I clamp the it with small U bolts first.
Then you can check the pedal placement vs. rudder location and the tension before you cut the cables to length and crimp them permently.

Thanks to all, now I know I can do it. Just did not want cut before I asked this time. This is one of the last things I have to do before paint.
