Nice shot Gordon! Now tell us how it was taken, please.

Also, I'm curious! What is the diameter of your prop, Gordon?

Hello Chuck!

Yes, I had one of those "squeeze bulbs" in my left hand, if you look you can see the air tube wrapped around my thigh. This was a good thing for remote operation of the camera shutter.

Also Chuck, you can see the terrain below me there...that is the beach I used to land on sometimes, you and I talked about it earlier this year.

The prop was standard Ken Brock - 48 inches, on a 90 hp Mac, all stock standard Brock gear.

I will try to get some more picture posted, you will see more of the beach and the camera mount.

Cheers and regards, Gordon Gibson.

(now the confession: this picture is coming up to 21 years old!) ;D ;D :D :D

Thanks a lot Gordon. That is a great camera set-up you have. Also, the dark grey colored (lava sand?) beach is really unique and beautiful. It must be very rewarding getting to fly around the big island you live on.

Where do you live Gordon? Do you also go to the other island? If I remember corectly, there is about forty miles of water between the North and South islands. Is that about right?

Please don't post anything to do gyros in the OFF TOPIC section.

Many of us never read this section because we come to this conference to read about rotorcraft. We don't read the OFF TOPIC section because it is for non-rotorcraft info, jokes, etc.

Please post all rotorcraft stuff under the GENERAL section or a specific section.

Thanks.

Ken R,

Yeah sorry, got carried away there, first time I ever put any pics on, realised it might be a problem after I'd finished.

Todd should maybe delete them if he wants,

Thanks, Gordon Gibson.

Ken, I hear where you're coming from. However, it's sometimes difficult to know where to post certain topics. For example, where would you have posted a picture of a riverboat on the Mississippi, taken from a gyroplane? And where do you think pictures of the earth, taken from a gyro, should be posted?

Gordon, I think Ken was indicating that since your pictures are of you and your machine, that more people would look at them if they were in a better place.

Another shot.
Note modified rotor blades, they run in the opposite direction - after all this pic was taken in the southern hemisphere.

I hope I will get to fly over the beach next to the ocean some day.
