Here's our Mosquito...almost ready for flight. We have been building since February and all thats left to do is main rotor balance. We look forward to breaking ground before my birthday September 17. This is a well designed helicopter and we believe it will do the job!
Helicopters can do some great things. Saving lives is just one of them.

Hey, I've saved a life once. I was flying home one day and saw a coyote circling a cow and calf waiting for his chance to attack the calf. I descended down between the coyote and his prey and started to herd it away. For whatever reason it didn't see me as much of a threat as it took about five minutes of hover taxiing to move it about 1/4 mile to the edge of the field. All of a sudden it turned and took off like a bandit. I figured it must have finally given up when suddenly a truck went screaming by 30 feet to my left headed straight at the coyote and slammed on the brakes just before hitting the fence. I almost had a heart attack. I landed and had a chat with the farmer that had been watching this transpire from his house about a mile or so away. Normally they don't like seeing us flying around near their cattle but he thought I was a pretty good guy that day!
Ok so it wasn't a human life but it's the best I can do...so far.
I don't see a picture of your machine Mike.

Sure! Go to www.innovatortech.ca for a lot of pictures. Here's one from Oshkosh last year and another in my back yard.
This is a link I just found of the prototype XE flying around but I don't know if it will work or not.

Here's an interview with the XE flying in the background a little at Oshkosh this year. The flying looks kind of dumb because I'm doing the pendulum thing back and forth in front of the crowd but it looks wierd from an end view. He just missed me playing with the cones which was a lot of fun. Trying to give Mark from Safari a run for his money but he's a lot better than I am.
I have another one from a customer showing his first hover but it's 480 KB so I can't post it here (unless someone knows how) but I can email it to anyone who want's to see it. I'll be updating the web site with a customer completions page shortly and will include any customer videos there.

100 on the first prototype before selling it. 160 on the second.

Thanks :)
I'm interested but will wait until they accumulate a bit more time, the older I get the more chicken I get too - coming from a background in helicopter maintenance before I learned to fly them is part of that. Looks like a lot of fun for sure & the price point is very attractive!

We have over 400 hours now on the Mosquito fleet and continue building time on the prototypes.

How about an update on the helicopter. I started my training last week and hope to get my add on rating by summer. Would it be possible to get a demo flight in the heli before I purchase, (after I'm rated)? Does the price include a govenor? Do you have a low rotor rpm warning system?

I am pretty close to buying the Mosquito as log as I can get it FAR 103 with a body on it? I am looking around and want also to know if another motor could be bolted on it without too much work and I have been told that that motor on it is too costly and not as good as some of the others.-Any Thoughts-
Also I see a ULTRASPORT 254 that has a body and claims to be a true ultralight and they show it hanging from a weight scale. I wonder if they are selling any of them? I want a nice one with a body if I have to design it myself. Also does it still take a while to get one of the Mosquitos? I am close to ready to buy.

Hey Mosquito Man
Hi John
Can you tell us a bit about your main rotor. Who builds the blades. The videos I have seen seem to show a small conning angle which suggests heavy rotor with light disc loading etc. How is inertia for autorotation ?
I saw your flight demonstration on TV "Our Daily Planet" show and was impressed.
I tried to bring in a Scorpion 2 kit to Canada in 1979 but DOT had no homebuilt helicopter category at the time. I took the money and spent it on training on the Bell 47 instead which turned out to be the better investment. Yet I still would like to build my own. I have looked at every kit ever developed and the Mosquito remains near the top of my list.
Anyway , when you get a chance , main rotor info would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Arnie
