Rick,

Nice looking machine. I first saw it at Mentone '98.

I just picked up one of your CDI conversions for my Mac. One of our chapter members had one unused, and wasn't planning on installing it.

I'll post the results when I get around to installing it.

Rick, do you ever fly the Gadget? I saw it once at Bensen Days a few years ago and don't remember seeing it leave the confines of the trailer it was sitting in. It certainly is a sharp looking machine.

Mike, you asked: "how well does your brothers machine perform with the Subaru?"

It flys ok but not enough power for me. The direct drive just will not produce the thrust needed to really perform well.

Jose, I do have wheels like the ones on Mike`s machine. :)

Ron, I do fly the Gadget every chance i get.I have 250 hr`s on it now. The day you saw me it was windy. I don`t fly when it`s windy! I also have a Air Command Tandem that I fly also.

Mike, Glad to see you was able to get one of my ignitions. Who did you get it from? There is a # stamped on the side of the mag that is registered to the original owner. Did you get the installation papers with it? If you need any help give me a call! ;)

How windy is it normally at BD's?

Aussie Paul, are you going to be there?

gyromike
03-15-2004, 07:03 PM
Rick,

I see a stamping that says "ARD 9" on the right hand mounting ear, and another that says "D 16" on the left hand mounting ear. I bought it from Steve Alexander of Jennings, Louisiana.

I do have the installation instructions, and when I get ready to install, I'll call about wiring recommendations, and so forth.

Paul won't be there till next year, right Paul?

Wind at bensen days isn't too bad very few people find it too much to stop them from flying all day long. I would guess it can be from a light breeze up to 10-12 steady. It is usually steady no matter what speed which makes it nice and not much of a problem.

Here are some of me and my dads gyro, the trailer is cool too, a converted snowmobile trailer, complete with rotor supports. the weird part about this gyro is that it was registered with the faa as a 2 seater, and the model on the tag is a BM80. but its not a 2 seater. N521LW

Put a rotax 503 on it with a small prop, It will work fine regardless of what people will tell you, ain't that right Phil (fl90).

I put a 503 conversion kit on my KB-2 and never had a problem. I put over 150 hours on this bird before selling it and buying a Challenger. Better on fuel.LOL

Mark,
What size prop did you have on your 503?

gyroflyer2

Tim, I had a 60" Warp Drive. Nice prop and trouble free.

By the way Tim, beautiful pictures of you and your gyro and great videos in your sample files.

Thanks Mark, I'm converting over to a Rotax 503 soon. I'm going to try using a smaller prop than 60" in order to keep my thrustline low so I won't have to do a drop keel mod.

Hi Brent,

The conversion kit came with the tall mast, mounting brackets, and engine. The sad thing of it is that I can't remember the gentleman I bought it from. It's been a few years.LOL

I had a blast with this machine and truly do miss this type of flying. Someday I might get another gyro and set it next to my Challenger (when I finish it).

Hello dear gyronauts,

I'm pleased with the nice assistence the RWF offers to eachother.
It's nice to be a member of this forum.

At this moment I'm trying to find the original joystick Ken Brock offered for his
KB 2.
I don't need the complete joystick but only the vertical part (used by the pilot to fly the machine: part between the legs)that fits into the joystick assembly.
The part that's fitted onto the keel is alredy in my possession.
If anyone has this part I would like to buy it.
Hope to get reactions from the forum.

Best wishes from Robert Ensing / Netherlands
