After I left Calf, I stopped in Buckeye to have Ken's gyro reviewed and take a few lessons.
One item that was noticed by AAI was the size of the original RAF axle.
AAI currently uses a 3/4" axle vs the original 5/8" from RAF. And a mod replacement axle is available.
According to Ken, his bird has taking alot of landings. My opinion is that the 5/8" axle is probably ok.
Anyone have an opinion on the 5/8 vs 3/4"?
I am aware that there has been a few incidents where the wheel broke loose. But I am not sure where the break occured.
