Way to go Stuart! good for you!
What? you don't get a cut Ron? Ernie needs to put you on the payroll, just like Steve McGowan does for Groen Brothers.

Stuart,
Ask Ernie about 4 & 6" wheels. I'm changing because it saves about 7# and some drag. Ernie says smaller is not less safe.

What color are you going to get? ;)

Scott,
I'll go with white because the lighter colors fly better. LOL

Thanks guys; I'm really excited. Now that I've finally made the decision I can't think of much else! John: I'm going with the 503, and I believe I'm next in line. David: Do you think the bigger wheels might be better on bumpy grass strips? I'd like to save the weight, but want to have to be too careful about where I land. Yea, I've been to the Greenville flyin before, and had a great time. Scott: Thanks and thanks for a great weekend. Tim, Bart and Mike Thanks too. I'm really looking forward to flying with all of y'all. stuart

Stuart, go with the taller wheels offered, they roll better on rough surfaces. Your light enough yourself to not need to worry about a few pounds more in rolling stock. Do make sure to get a hour or two of dual with someone with a dominator. The ground handling is a bit different from what your used to.

Stuart,
I defer to the greater gyro experience of Ron. I fly off a not so smooth grass strip with no problem at all with the 8" wheels. I have the smaller wheels to try yet.
I got a real surprise going from grass to asphalt with the Dominator. I would agree with AT LEAST 2 hours of T&G's, grass & asphalt, x-wind and even downwind -- money well spent.

Thanks David; I wasn't really planning on instruction; thought I'd just go at it very slowly, babysteps, but y'all have given me something to think about. Where would you go? Thanks, stuart

Not only is ground handeling differant, but also the placement of your behind. The dominator is very high off the ground like a "Shoe Shine" Chair. It would be a very good idea to get alittle Dual in a gyro that is also high.
If you can't find anyone with a 2 place Dominator, the next closest I'd think would be an Aircommand. If so, Both Maxie Wildes and and Dan Leslie are in Ga.
Better yet, when your gyro is closer to being ready, see if Ernie can give you some dual.

Stuart,
Congratulations!!!! You have made a very good choice. Like Ron said the bigger wheels are the better wheels, and with your light ass sitting in the machine there is no weight savings that would be noticed. I would check with Ernie on the training as well. Way to go, I am happy for you!! Keep us posted.
Fly Safe,
Chris

Stuart maybe you could arrange to get the machine on a friday and meet Dave Seace at Wauchula for the weekend. He has a two seat Dominator that I've been training in.

Bart and I were at the airport today and I snapped a few picutres of him and his new baby. He said he popped off the ground a couple of times while ballancing.

Well yesterday was yesterday and today is today.
Bart Hutchison took to the air today. Under the watchful eye of Dave Seace (and with the help of an aborted landing) Bart not only flew the pattern today, but actually we couldn't keep him on the ground. Funny, all he wanted to was bond with his gyro. Bart already had some fixed wing time and quite a few hours with Dave, so he was well prepared.
After a few flights, he tweaked the adjustment on the control rods to get the stick where he wanted it and he was gone again. Where's Bart?
Anyway, congrats to Bart and Dave. Plus my hangar rent just went down!
