I personally have never run one or flown with one. I have seen them, watched them fly, and touched them and know a little about them. I have also talked to many many people that have flown them and it is pretty much a given that the Mac engine will fail on you. It simply wasn't designed to run for very long.

Some people get hundreds of fairly trouble free hours of flying out of them, others can't get more than a handful of hours before the engine quits and causes a emergency landing. Maybe where your at there is alots of places to land, maybe not. I would not personally fly a Mac powered gyro out of glide range of the airport or a field with good access to recover the gyro after having to ditch there.

just my two cents.

They say the one thing you can certainly count on with a Mac engine is that it WILL quit on you.

And which engine do you recommend me for the BENSON B8M,and how much it cost ? Do I have to do any modification to the engine frame?

Rotax 503 if your a fairly light person, or a 582 if your not. If you want a four stroke use a Vw or better yet a Subaru but any of these engines will require a lot of work to install including extensive airframe mods.

Best bet is NEVER EVER fly over anything at any time where a engine out landing can't be made. And try like crazy to take the best care of the Mac and enjoy flying gyroplanes.
