Hi, I am building a gyrobee and I was just wondering if the 4130 steel and the aluminum 6061 t6 used in the construction of this gyroplane is all made especially for aircraft purposes and you can only buy it from an aircraft parts supplier or can you buy it from somewhere else like an ordinary steel supplier. If so is there any of these suppliers in nj.
Thanks,
Mike. :D

Mike,

There are a lot of people that buy their material from secondary sources other than an aircraft supplier. The main difference is that with an aircraft material supplier, usually, there is no minimum quantity that you have to buy.

If you are going to buy from another source, make sure the 4130 you're buying is grade or type "N", or Normalized.
