Saturday was General Aviation Days at Paine Field Washington. (Home of Boeing’s 747,767, and soon 787 manufacturing)

We were invited to participate and flew up from Auburn Municipal Airport at about 9:00 Saturday morning. I have included pictures along the way of the City of Bellevue, Lake Washington homes. The lake homes are mostly retired Microsoft Employees. There are also some of David Overman, our CFI, at the show with the ME 262’s in the back ground.

There was a two seat trainer Me 262 and a single seat fighter. They are replicas made from one of the original aircraft and the original plans from Germany. The ammunition bays are open and look exactly like the original aircraft. They do have modern jet engines and avionics. The single seat ME 262 is going to a museum in Munich but will be flown each year during Oktoberfest. (That’s what the marketing manager told me)

In the past I have bought any books I could find on this aircraft and made a model of it.
I am very pleased Hitler held back its production because he wanted it for a bomber. My dad was in the Army Air Corps and that aircraft would have been a big factor if it had been introduced a couple of years earlier. I actually might not bee here.
