André,
I was getting all excited over the "Sexy Single" until I realized it was a gyro. It's a nice one though.

It sure looks like he has a very short prop. 50" or less. Performance will suffer. But it does keep it close to CLT.

I like the tall tail on the single. Do you have anymore pictures?

Thanks for the pictures Charles. Did you build this gyro? Did you build the tall tail? Does it fly real good with the tall tail?

Hello Tim...
Yes I built this gyro completely fro A to Z. It's from the original Bensen plan but with many modifications. It has a very comfortable suspension. It has an AirCommand style nosewheel of my own. It has an alum. tall tail with anti-servo trim. It has an electric prerotator, I want to make a soft start system for the pr. I'm working at it presently.
Wanna know how it flies, well somepeople told me that my prop is a bit small, 50 inches. It floats me wonderfully through the air. The more wind, the more fun.
I built this gyro entirely, even the gimbal rotorhead. The rotorblade was built by a good friend. It was made from select maple as the leading edge reinforced with a one inch by 1/8 cold rolled steel. It has 700 grams weights at each ends. Once hand started a couple of time to give the battery a chance, I roll the runway with a 12 mph wind and I'm up in 400 feet.

The hor. stab is large enough to compensate rock and rolling.

Very nice. It's always great to see how creative people are when building. How long did it take to build it? Was it something you did slowly over time or once you decided to build a gyro did you do it in a relatively short amount of time? Did you have a lot of your inovations planned out before you started building or did you develop them as you built?

Hi Tim

This project took me 2 years. I made parts, I scrapped parts and I remade
parts. This, until total satisfaction. I discovered that simple was better.
The pictures you see here have been taken some time ago. I remade many other modifications on the machine since.

I am presently building another gyro for a friend. He wants a lot of my features on his. I am at making 3 rotorheads set from the exact Bensen plan.
I mean gimbal rotorheads.

I have another project of making a tractor gyro (Pitbull style) of my own.
I worked on the plan all last winter. As I said, simple is better. Each time I had a new version, I'd draw it. I have many sheets of ideas. I plan on making the fuselage from a fiberglass mold (plug) that I will prepare.

What about seeing your project! Do you have a gyro that we may discuss about. Perhaps combined ideas can bring to some great results. I'd be glad to help, even assist is parts making. I own a CNC router table. I made all my T-6 aluminum flat plates entirely from it. I also have some machinery in my small shop to occupy me untill I retire.

Feel free to chat with me if I can be of any help.

That one photo with the blue skys and multilayered clouds is VERY beautiful. It adds so much depth to the photo instead of a plain blue or "whited" out sky. On days like that I would shoot a LOT of photos because you don't see days like that often..... Look at the results !

Charles,
Please quit sending us cold air. Please send those clouds instead.
I'm looking forward to seeing that photo on the cover of a PRA magazine, right after the Stan Foster tail shot.

Are you listening Rick ?

Thanks to all for the appreciation. We also are living under cold air. Maybe
some wind blowing from the south wouldbe grateful.
I'd love to see me on the PRA any page magazine.

Thanks again

Hey Charles, Remember that one of your Quebec gyro club decals is flying in Illinois. Lots of people have asked about it. By the way, as of today I am back in the air after the car wreck. Pbool

Hi John
I'm glad to hear everything is ok with you. Hope you get a good time flying
and have no more bad lucks. The way you connected the PR is a good safe way. I also made mine with a safety switch.
Keep on posting pics, I have a whole bunch of them in my image file.
