Hi Guys, just a couple of shots of my pedal assembly. Pretty much the same as the plans with the exception that the crosspiece is 1 1/4 angle with the bottom side cut back to 1 inch. The brackets are 1 inch x 1/4 bar. Everything else is pretty much per plans. Need to order some parts from StarBee, seat and cover, and maybe wheel kit. By the way, does anybody know anything about the Street Dreams control stick? Their website says nothing about it. I emailed them and am waiting a response. When I get it, I will post what they say, and what is included with it. Their cost is $150. Take a look: http://www.iserv.net/~strdream/aluminum.html. Nice work on the pedals Brian! Cant wait to see QB finished! Hope everyone elses build is going OK. That SnowBee sure is cute...those wheel fairings sure finish it off!

Jerry,
F**king WOW! Love how you blended the ends of the bracket mount. Also, I was admiring how you flattened the rivets in the third photo. Truly gorgeous. Quick question though... did you extend the pivot points rearward slightly? I ask because the arch brace fasteners usually contact the angle bracket when rotated to about 90 degrees. Your's seem well clear of any interference.

Hats off my friend! Your work is beautiful. May I ask to see the rest of the ship?

Cheers,
Brian Jackson

Hey Jerry, Your work is awesome man. Also like the turkey cooker and oil ready to go at a moments notice.

Thanks guys, Brian, since my crosspiece was 1.75 inches, and the pedal would not clear that at all, I shoved it through the table saw, and I think that it is just slightly under a inch wide. The pivot holes are in the same place, but the combination of the bottom of the brace being slightly narrower than an inch, and 2 thin washers under the bolt heads of the arch supports seems to have made enough room. Building gyros would be much easier if someone would just ship me a box of money on a weekly basis. I found 2 genes that were not properly installed in my DNA at birth, one being the ability to cook a turkey in a fryer without burning its legs off, or being undercooked on the inside. The other, the inability to woodwork. I was instructed to "stop working on that stupid metal thing" and build an oak 4x6 double side by side recipe box with a slanted top immediatly for the girlfriend. How hard can that be...you build a complete box, then shove it through the saw at an angle and cut the top off and hinge it back on. Well, that might have worked if the rip fence was locked down...now the top slopes not only forward, but also to the right :( I informed her that I would be building it out of 6061 aluminum...I think her response to that was "get bent" Woodworking was much easier when I was 5 and had a big can of those Tinker Toys.

I bow down to the comic genius who is Jerry... I'm pissed right now 'cause my gut is hurting from laughing! If you think that's bad try building a bird house using the Time Cube (http://www.timecube.com) principal. The Borg have nothing over on that guy!

Contrary to your woodworking talents (or lack thereof) I'm in admiration of your Gyro. It's truly a thing of beauty, and I hope we can chat & compare notes soon. I've got this sinking feeling we share the same twisted sense of humor and reality... they're interchangeable.

Respectfully,
Brian Jacnblfrdn
