Lumberton N.C. there will be a big fly in and airshow starting today through Sunday. If your in the area, might want to stop by....

I am planning to fly my gyro there - 80 miles as the crow flys each way - but not sure which day I am going. Either Saturday or Sunday.

Greg Spicola said he was going to come here with his gyro and fly with me, but as he tried to talk Chris Wilson into coming with him, I think Chris talked him out of going. So not sure if I will be the only gyro there, or if there will be 2 or more.... But either way it will be a good time.

You seem to know about more flying events than anyone, Where do you find out about them all?

you guys suck! go the lazy route and expose a couple of fixed wingers to your gyros, or go to a fly in that will be equal to a 1/2 scale sun n fun.

That Cessna 150 almost shot down over DC, they were headed to Lumberton, Everyone I know in the area that flys is going to Lumberton either today or over the weekend.

Don't worry though, I am not angry! ;) I can understand. Just remember Greg, it isn't nice to say your going to do one thing and then do another!!! :) :) :)

Jazzy Jeff John, I think you can do a google search for fly ins, alot of local Eaa Chapters will have fly in lists on their websites, I think there is a website called fly-in.com or something that has a big list of fly ins. Alot of magazines has a list of fly ins, so does the bullentin board at most smaller airports. Biggest way to know about the upcomig local fly ins, is by word of mouth.

Automan, go look in the "Mid Atlantic" thread, where I posted pics and a little story about the event.

Hey GyroRon, What did you do about refueling, meaning did you use av gas or did you find automotive gas? Also do you have an oil injector, or do you carry oil with you? Also again, do you think an Ultrawhite would have the same endurance? Just a couple questions that came to mind. Thanks

My ship has a 10 gallon seat tank and I could have made it the whole way on one tank, but my friend in the Phantom was not sure of his fuel burn rate and wanted to stop and get fuel along the way no matter how much we had burned and how much we had left.

We stopped at Rockingham N.C. - home of the popular Nascar, and dragracing tracks - and topped off our tanks. It was about a even hours worth away from Goose Creek. I burned 3.5 gallons with my 582 and he burned about the same with his 503. We filled up with Av-Gas.... It won't hurt anything except the pocketbook so as long as you don't use it all the time.

As for oil, I took off the oil injection system, so both my gyro and Shanes Phantom had to have the oil mixed in with the gas. I had thrown 2 extra Quarts of oil up in the front of my pod and Shane did the same thing with his and we just put in some oil and off we went.

It was almost a hour from Rockingham to Lumberton, and I flew there... did a 10-15 minute demo flight before leaving..... and then flew back to Rockingham, All on the same tank. I still had 3 gallons left when I landed at Rockingham, so I burned 7 gallons in the 2 or so hours of flying I had done.

I think the Ultrawhite will be good for about 1 hour 30 minutes of flying before you need to land and gas up.

Go to a Motorcycle shop and get a small leather strap on tool bag and strap it to the tubing holding the instrument pod on the Ultrawhite. You can use this bag to hold extra oil and a rag, and rotorstrap etc....

just remember you want to keep the Ultrawhite as light and basic as possible or you will spoil the essence of the machine.
