View Full Version : What are you willing to do for the PRA?

In the spirit of JFK's famous quote, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." I thought we could use a thread where forum members can post what they are willing to do help out the PRA. I hope that this can be a resource, both for Pam and the board so that they know who the can call on when they need help, and for members who have ideas and want to find someone to help out. We have between us many diverse talents.

I'll start. I'm more than willing to help out editing Rotorcraft articles, or articles for the website, for both errors and content. I've seen a lot of problems with this in the past and it can be a very time consuming task. Everyone, even professional writers, can use an objective eye to go over their writing. I can be contacted any time by email at pwendell@ambiente-sw.com or at 602-628-4230.

Hey Tim, I'll join you in the Pamphlet and DVD stuff, maybe old rotorcraft mags too. I think we should have a single point of contact for PRA members to distribute to interested persons when they go to fly-ins and stuff like that. If we can get Pam to forward the requests for materials, we can work to get a fund to buy the old mags, print the brochures and possibly set up a bulk dvd burn or ? What do you think?

John,

That sounds very good. I don't have any funds right now to contribute though. My DVD image is downloadable and I can burn them one at a time here and there. The tri-fold pamphlet is available for download and I am happy to mail a CD of it to anyone who can print them.

:) I am selling ads for the PRA Convention program book being produced by the Gremmingers as a fund raiser for the PRA.

I have sold the back cover already and have some manufacturers and dealers pledged as well. :D

I would like the chapters to purchase a "signature" advertisement. Generally these wish the convention well in your words and provide a link to your chapters for growth. These signature ads are quite reasonably priced at $25.00.

I need to have your information ASAP. Please consider.

Tom,

Would a 'classified' style ad be unapproprate?

Good question. What do you think?

It's Greg Gremminger's baby I'll run it by him.

After careful consideration, many thoughtful e-mails and comments on this forum, I have reconsidered and decided to remain on the ballot for Board of Directors this year. I have been given the impression that I have not outlived my usefulness yet and might still have something to contribute.

I still support the new nominees and would be happy to give my seat up to any one of them.

I would also be willing to serve another term and help with a transition.

Some of the supportive e-mails that I received made reference to "not letting the whiners discourage you". I would like to make it clear that I am not influenced by whiners in any way. They were not a part of my original decision. I only wanted to make way for the new nominees.

This summer marks my 30 year anniversary with PRA. I would like to help the PRA now more than ever. I believe PRA is on a threshold and there has never been a better time to be involved with gyroplanes.

In the very near future I will spell out my vision for he PRA and what I believe we need to do to get in step with the future.

Thank you for your support, Tom

I spoke with Greg and we both agreed that any advertisment, in good taste, would be acceptable and encouraged.

Send the artwork files, message and payment to me. I will forward to Greg Gremminger per his request.

Our club ad ( I tried to attach it here) will be our club's logo and the following message.
President Adam Helwich and the members of The Greater Midwest Rotorcraft Club, Chicago, IL. Would like to wish the Popular Rotorcraft Association a successful and safe convention fly-in 2005. “Bright skies and fair winds”

Hey, Tom, glad to see that you have reconsidered! I see your stepping up as chapter coordinator as a big plus for the organization. I see the chapters as the strength of the PRA so having a good coordinator to help with the promotion and communication is invaluable.

You got my vote!

Greg & Steph Gremminger are doing the PRA Mentone convention 2005 program book for the cost of printing. I am selling ads.

The response from chapters has been less than spectacular so I've decided to appeal to the PRA supporters on the forum to see if any of you want to buy a program book advertisement?

If you would like to wish the PRA convention well , the signature ad would be the least expensive.

We are nearing the dead line I need to hear from interested parties ASAP.

Tom, Chapter 62 voted at the May meeting to buy a $50 ad but we just haven't set down and compiled it yet. It is probably in this thread some where but just in case it isn't, where do we send the money?

Tom what is the deadline date?
We have our monthly fly-in June 18-19, 2005, we would like some input from all members who attend and officers, about what size etc. Thanks MJ :)

Thanks MJ,
Greg said he could give me "a bit longer". I hope so, I haven't scratched the surface yet.
