We left for Orlando Sunday and considered that a rest day before going to Epcot on Monday. It was a fun day and I usually don't purchase touristy pictures that these types of places take but after we went on the 'Test Track' I couldn't resist! The expression on my wife's face was classic. And then her response at the 'Mission: Space' was also hilarious but we don't have a picture of that. Suffice it to say that I'm not sure she is astronaut material! Me either, for that matter!

We had a 'Mall Day' Tuesday, (yeah, you have to expect one of those now & then!) at the Florida Mall and I have to admit it is an impressive one.

Wednesday we went to Lakeland (almost exactly 50 miles from our motel) and Sun & Fun. We kinda fumbled our way around until we found out that the main terminal was where we bought tickets and caught the bus back to the shuttle depot. The shuttle/tram depot wasn't too far from Paradise City where the ultralights were but it was a good hike to Chopper Town where the rotorcraft reside. We took a shuttle first so I could walk thru the ultralights but only saw part of the area before breaking for lunch. We went to Chopper Town after lunch and spent some time there visiting with just a few people. Apparently most were at a media event. While there we watched a restored P-38 put on quite a aerial display. This is one of my favorite war planes so that was entertaining.

We caught the shuttle back to the ultralight area and I finished up seeing everything there. Since this was my first time at S&F I don't know if the number of displays was typical but I was a little disappointed in the number of fixed wings. There was a ton of powered parachutes but they don't appeal to me. What I did find interesting in the PP displays was the number of Suzuki three cylinder engines used. In fact I got the impression that it was the dominant engine there. In any event, I managed to increase our luggage load to Texas with all the brochures I picked up.

Thursday we flew home with good memories of the time we spent at Bensen Days and the great people there. Hope to see you all at Mentone!

Great trip report!

Did people go to the 'castle' for dinner one night?

Looking forward to your pictures!
