I think this design is out of Russia. First time in the states. I think there is only one other trike design that is 'side by side'.

Cool. Any idea on the price? Looks expensive!

I see the pictures and I can't see any tail or stablizer. Do you have more pictures so I can see more of the design and what engine does it use. I would like to see the top of the rotor head and blade if its possible.

LAWOLF,

A "trike" is basically a powered hangglider, the triangular wing is supported at the top of a mast and on a gimbol so the pitch and roll can be controlled by moving a bar fixed to the wing. - replace the wing with a rotorhead and control and you have a gyroplane.

The Trike has a wing design that provides pitch stability without the need of a horizontal stab, which is why you noticed the absence of a tail. You'd have to add more than just a rotor. ALso, the mast of a gyro is designed to be flexible. If you used the rigid trike structure, rotor vibrations could be an issue. The Trikes sure are pretty, though.
My first encounter with a trike was a couple of years ago when two trikes landed at the local airfield here in CT. They were heavily loaded with equipment and I asked where they were headed. One of the pilots said they were heading on up the east coast to Nova Scotia and then across the atlantic ocean!
I later read on the internet that they indeed had made it on their multi-continent journey. When they took off, they climbed out like rocket ships. Both had Rotax 914's, I believe. In fact, they had stopped to pick up a thermostat or some other part from the local auto parts store.

Al,
That was probably Mike and Olivier in 1999. The trip covered about 43,000km in a 8 month period. Both trikes had the 912S on them. Nice website at: http://www.trike-expeditions.com/

I think it is in the $25k range. It has the Rotax 582 on it.

twistair:
Do you have any other trike manufacturer in Russia?

Sure we have. I believe there are at least 10-15 manufacturers among them whose production is really well done and proven both in performance and safety.
I'm not familiar with details but I know for sure that these (for example) are proven to be really good:

Their was another trike that was made as a side by side in England years ago.
It was the first of its kind and was made by SkyLink, was called The Hornet RSZA.
I used to own and fly one, and acheived over 200hrs in it. It was a very strong, well built machine.
Alot of other trike pilots would be put off by having to fly it from the side 2 up, but I found it quite easy, and passangers liked being up front with me.
When I flew it 1 up, I simply sat in the middle of the bench seat, as per a conventional machine.

See attached photo of it.

Regards Sam.
