I just got back from Benson Days and I wanted to send out thanks to a bunch of people who were there.
First thanks to MJ, Catfish, and all of the Sunstate folks who put it on. They did a great job especially after the storm that hit last Oct. Flying around there you can see the trees that had been knocked over, and there are buildings downtown that are still flattened.
Thanks to Greg and Rick for helping me get situated even though I was kinda grumpy after driving so long.
Thanks to Terry for the training. He's an excellent instructor and worked his butt off training anyone who wanted training.
Thanks to Ron for flying my gyro and giving me advice on how to take care of it and improve it.
Thanks to Herman, Bob, and all the people who helped adjust and track my blades.
Thanks to Bob, Rocky, Mike, Tony, Greg, and all who made me feel welcome and introduced me to everybody.
Thanks to Curran, Tim, Rick, and Herman for explaining the how's and why's of the assembly of my new (to me) Bee.
Thanks to everybody who showed up and made the event a success and to everybody else I've forgotten to mention.
I had a great time and I hope to see you all at Mentone this year !!

It is MJ, Catfish and David whom are owed the most gratitude. This crew begins months in advance with the legwork. And after Bensen Days begins, it is they who have to put up with the bitching and grumbling.
MJ, sweetie, we couldn’t do without you. You’re the glue that keeps it stuck together.

Chuck without the Support and Respect and Understanding of All Sunstate Members and PRA Members I am not sure I Could make it Stick.
I owe alot to all who have taught me and helped me in so many ways.
Even though I am not a Pilot I do Love this Sport and All involved.
When I Say I feel like We All are Family I do Mean that, but some dont and I respect that and understand.
As for you Chuck you have helped me in feeling and now knowing that you can never Ask a Stupid Question. And for you to be able to explain to me and for me to understand makes me feel and know how much you do care about all of us.
Gotta go unpack and write up an articile to post on what a Safe and Wonderful Fly-In Bensen Day was.

A big THANKS! :) A most pleasant week in Florida, one night's rain not withstanding... :p
Even though I only have a half finished gyrobee, everyone (no exceptions) made me feel welcome. Now I'm fired-up to get it finished and complete the instruction to start flying it.

MJ, Catfish, Davey and all the Sunstate crew thanks so much for putting on a great fly-in. And also for getting so many gyros tucked in the hangar for the big storm.
It is wonderful putting faces to all the names on the forum and seeing all the different ways people manage to get airborne.
We had a great time and are looking forward to Mentone.

At the risk of being repititious, I offer a huge thanks to Catfish and MJ, and all who helped them, for putting on such a fun flying party at B-Days.
The people who set up and run flyins do a lot of grungy, tedious work before, during and after the event. They put up with a bunch more stress and hassle than most of us have to tolerate at WORK, never mind in our spare time. The folks who run these shows barely get to fly at all... they're busy running around playing cop, host, desk clerk and babysitter all at once.
I wasn't even going to attend this year, but at B-Days got closer, the thought of missing a visit with you all got to be intolerable. I'm sure glad I changed my mind.

I would also like to thank MJ, Catfish, Davey, Rick, Greg, and all of the others who made this a great fly-in.
I enjoyed meeting up with old friends and new, and also putting names to faces, and faces to names.
I'm already looking forward to next year.

I too want to thank everyone who made this fly-in possible. I also want to thank everyone who had the patience to answer all my dumb and uninformed questions without making me feel as stupid as I felt.
Being a rank amateur when it comes to gyros, I've never learned so much from so many people in such a short period of time. Being able to check out so many different gyros was something I'm sure I couldn't do anywhere else.
I had thought the visibility in a sailplane was unbeatable, until I made my 1st gyro flight. What a great feeling of freedom! I may be hooked...
So when will there be a west coast fly-in?

Tom, did we meet? Keep you eyes out for information on the El Mirage fly in in late September. It is in your neck of the woods and is alot of fun I am told. Not sure if they will have it this year or not, but you could start a thread asking about it.

Hey Ron,
We were introduced, but didn't have the opportunity to talk. I hope to remedy that sometime in the future as I've learned a lot from your many posts! I'll look into El Mirage also.

MJ & Gang, glad to see you came back from all those huricanes! I hope to see you next year, when I'm working a little steadier.
Tom, MJ...Two words: El Mirage. The Ken Brock Freedom Fly-In is a great event, and the high desert environment is spectacular.

Paul Thanks, one year I will get there. Just not to sure it is going to be this year.
BD Days was better than I thought it could be after such bad weather we had on Thursday nite, but we had a great turn out. Bull Browns machine was blown over along with some other items. Banquet was great and lots attended.
Hope you make it next year. MJ :)
