View Full Version : How do you make a avatar that has more than one image?

I want to do a new avatar and want to do more than one image any hints?

You can use a number of freeware packages to make animated GIFs .. go to http://www.tucows.com or similar and search for "animated GIF"

Most have a UI with a series of frames and you paste presized (100x100, 120x120, or something like that) images into the frames in the order you want them to appear.

Also, if you have PhotoShop, there's a section of it called ImageReady that lets you order the frames and time them (frame duration). This forum uses 100 X 100 pixel avatars, so whatever images you want to appear, crop and/or resize them to that size before assigning them to a frame. For this forum you can also change the aspect ratio, so long as the longest edge is 100 pixels or less. Just make sure the final output GIF file is less than 29.3 KB, which is the limit for avatars here. More frames=larger file, so it's easy to exceed that limit.

Of course, I would have rewrapped it and given it to a worthy person. :D

As far as hair, it's turning loose faster than it's turning gray!
