Evening all,

Even though it has been a labor of love, it has been almost three years of patience and persistence. But as of yesterday morning I am finally alone, up in the air, in my own machine, that I built with my own two hands. VERY satisfying. And yes I'm being extra careful. But yeeeeeha!
I'm still just flying the runway and starting to do S-turns but it feels great. I've done about 60 cycles most with a gentle crosswind. Heck of a thermal on the north end of the runway but I'm taming it. Landings have been a lot easier than I expected. So I'm going to just keep at it until the turns feel good and my instructor, Dave Seace, says to "fly the pattern". Can you see my smile!!!!!
I hope all of you are happy and are doing well,

Great Rick!! I soloed the other day in too much wind and was a little hairy but it was great. Was in the air about a hour and shot 5 landings. Look forward to seeing you again. See you at BD!! Tell David I did it.

Thomas,
I had read your post from a couple of days ago. Dave, Greg & I were having lunch Saturday and I told him I had seen your news. From Dave and I - Awesome! Hope to see you at Bensen Days.

Ben, thanks! And yes, I'll look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks Scott. I'm going to try. Fortunately, I have spring break 3/25 to 4/3. Maybe that will be enough time. We'll see. After coming this far, I'm not going to do anything stupid. And yes, "magical" describes it well.

Ron, that would be awesome, but I'll be happy to just be going around the patch by then. Are Shannon and Kasey coming?

John, Keep up the fight!

TLanders look forward to seeing you flying at BD Days.Hey, M.J., how 'bout the 'gators?! I know that Anthony Spagnoleti got a rush out of it a few years ago. But, when my wife flew with Carol DeGraw she didn't want to get any closer than they were when Carol pointed one out to her.
