Since the weather has been so great here.. (in the 70's), I've been flying about every other day. It's so much stinkin fun!!!!

Here are some pictures (March 10)... My father-in-law and I flew/rode to a friends house about 30 miles away. He rode his Harley and I flew over him, circled around and then took off over the beautiful fields of Souther Oregon.

What a great day!!!

Shawn, those are some stunning photos. Every time I see a shot like that with a cyclic and some legs, and then nothing but ground, I get an inane grin, and show all my co-workers: "See?! Gotta do it, gotta do it!". :D :D

p.s. If I didn't know better, I'd say those were taken over NZ ... Oregon's gorgeous. :)

I wish it was NZ. I lived in Australia for 3 years (Sydney and Cairns) and was in NZ about 6 months ago. I love it there. Now I just have to figure out how to my gyro on the airplane... carry-on or checked baggage...

That's God's country, Shawn.

I thought of Portland as a retirement choice. How far is Jacksonville?

Enjoy!!! I have my DVD player now...so, am waiting for yours!! ;)

Cheers :)

Portland is Far north Oregon and I am on the south side (about 30 miles north of the California border... Portland is about a 5 hour drive (300 miles). The actual town I fly in is Medford / Central Point.

Thankfully for us, it actually doesn't rain all that much down here on the bottom of the state. Tillamook is about 3-4 hours north (Driving).

Shawn, we're glad to see you enjoying you 447 "Commander" so much. It's a great machine, isn't it?

Thanks for putting me onto the prerotator upgrade, I didn't know a thing about it! Now if I could only afford it, I would order one from Dick right away!

When do you plan on doing the CLT conversion? Please start a thread under Air Command when you do. I would like to see what you have to go through. I helped to install one but that machine had a Sub on it.

I understand that the engine gets flipped upright, but what about the exhaust?

I would also like to hear your take on the flight handleing changes, when you're finished.

In the meantime, keep on having a great time & keep those pics coming.

I'm gonna drag my 447 down to BD's but I hope we get a little warmer weather so I can tune up before I haul it all the way down there.

Scott. I just use a 4.1 MegaPixle Nikon digital camera. and I do use a wrist strap once I take it our of my pocket. I wish I had a wider lens so I could take more pictures back at the gyro but my arm is only so long.

No flying in Southern Oregon today since the weather stinks (for flying)!!! but it's still a great view from my backyard.

It's supposed to be like this for a few weeks so the CLT kit is going on my AC this week!! whoohooo!

I will be taking pictures and video and posting things as I go.

Shawn, Have you thought about doing a time-lapse thing?

If you're talking about the CLT kit being shot timelapse. The answer is YES. I did it as a test for my horizontal stabs: http://www.rotor-head.com/movies/stabs/index.html

I will do it as well for the CLT upgrade.
