I've recently read that this was the safest year for GA since the 1940's. So it looks like training and standards have been working to make our sport safer as well. That said, I'd like to raise the topic of the state of the sport as it relates to Gyroplanes.

General

Is our sport growing, shrinking or staying the same?
Were we safer this year than last?
Are more people training now than before?
Is training more accessible/available than before?
I plan on becomming a CFI for Gyroplanes, how many others have the same goals?
What is the best way to grow the sport?
What are we doing right?
What are we doing wrong?

Insurance

We now have limited insurance available, so are we becomming more accepted within the aviation community?
Will the availability of companies willing to insure Gyros increase?
What is the average cost for liability insurance? ($1,000,000/ 100,000/5,000)
How can we increase the availability and choice to our group?

Aircraft Sales

If any manufacturers read this (or people who are familiar with the numbers) How were last years sales?
What are the projected sales for the coming year?
What are the long term forecasts like for the industry?
How can we gain more influence as to the choices and costs involved?

Trends

In general what trends do you see regarding the sport as far as:
Highest geographical growth?
What style of craft is the sport trending to?
Airport acceptance

I know that's a lot to ponder, so pick one, or all to comment on. We need to understand where our sport is, and where it needs to get better so we can grow. With growth we will reap the benefits of more choice and more acceptance within the GA community. So please keep the politics and personal issues out of this one.
