A friend has been flying these for a while now and finally got me to go get one for myself. They are called Park flyers and they are RC model airplanes, but they are made real light and small and fly only about 5-10 mph.

They are electric powered and cheap too. I just got the Slow stick version and it was only like 35 bucks. Of course you also need a radio and a flightpack - which has the reciever, servos, speed control for the motor, and the battery - and a charger.... but all these items can be transfered to other park flyer model planes, so you only need one radio, one charger, and really only one flight pack, and then you can try other planes out as you get bored with the one you got now. and for 35 bucks it isn;t so bad if you crash it - but they are super easy to fix, just use super glue and duct tape... they are made of foam.

Check out this site that sells all kinds of park flyers. GWS is the leading brand.

Aren't they great. I've been flying RC for about three years now and started out with electrics. I have several gas planes and helicopters now, but just for easy going relaxing fun its tough to beat the small electrics. Plus you can carry them around in your car and fly them in any school yard. No noise, no mess, no engines to screw with.

I've had some of the most fun with a little plane I built called the And Now

You can build one of these in about 2 hours and it will cost you about $1 in materials for the airframe.

There is an excellent discussion forum for electric flight at:

I'll take some pictures of all the planes and helicopters in my "Man Room" this weekend and post them.

You need to sell one of those r/c jets and go buy a new Dominator from Ernie Boyette. The old Bensen with a mac is nice but the new Dominator will be more up your alley me thinks

By the way Ron,

If you like R/C. The biggest R/C fly-in in Ga. is about to happen on April 17th and 18th. In Americus Ga. Thats a little SW of Macon. They have a 2200 grass strip that they will be flying off of, but folks fly in all the time.

Because alot of these people are family and friends, I will be in attendance with "DaScrew-Driver." I intend on driving in to KACJ (Americus Souther Field) early Saturday am and depart for the fly-in from there. This will be the first time most have ever seen a gyro. If interested, I would love to have some company.
