It used to work. It was a screen made to look like Bubble wrap and you could use your mouse to point at the bubbles, then by clicking on the bubbles they would pop just like the real bubble wrap.

Ron, that sounds like real fun. Are we bored, or what?

How many loops have you done now?

Is a wing over a true 90 degrees? Or is it more than 90? Or is it just something close to 90 done in a typical hammerhead?

Ron, if I replaced my rear wheel with a small tube type tire, do you see any problem with landing and taking off on a beach or sandbar on the side of a river?

That was it Todd!

Chuck why not just put on some floats and take off from the water?

Chuck Irby

Ron, they would have to be combination floats with wheels. Otherwise, I'd be limited to taking off and landing only on water.

I was being a smart ass. floats are a no no on gyros!

Aussie Paul,

It's good to hear from you again. You've been pretty quiet lately, too quiet. Let us hear from you more often.

Paul, I know Ron is full of it. It seems that most of us in this community are. However, when Ron shoots straight, he seems to pretty well know what he's talking about. Our job is to make sure we know when he's shooting straight. Don't you agree?

How is your summer down under, Paul?

I am NOT a expert! but I do know a little about a few things.

Ron, don't cut yourself short. You are the only guy I know who can do loops in a gyro. What about the wingover Ron. If you posted about that, I missed it.

Ah wingovers are childs play. The really fun stuff is to climb up to 5 thousand feet and roll it inverted. Hold it there and the rotor will soon stop turning. then if you will keep it inverted the rotor will spin up in the other direction and then that allows up to stay inverted till reversing the whole process again. It makes for cool fly bys down the runway and if your realy brave you can use the blades to trim taller branches off trees. Just be sure to wear a good seat belt and refrain from eating McGiddle pancake breakfast sandwiches one hour prior to liftoff.

Pretty good, Ron. You have a very vivid imagination. When we finally do have our first annual Rotors Over South Mississippi, you'll have to be our featured guest. Then you can show the rest of us how to do all this exciting stuff. I'll bet we could get donations from everyone to pay your way down here.

Chuck and Ron, g'day. I have been debating quite heavily on the Oz forum.

http://www.asra.org.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=259&whichpage=4

I don't know what the problem is with me. I just seem to attract confrontation!!!!!!

Maybe it is that I am finally a little wrung out after 15 years of having to defend myself from a number of people, who have held honary positions of influence in the Oz gyro industry, who have done their best to bring me down using my Diabetes, which is the weak link in my chain.
I have beaten every attempt to have me grounded, and now have such a history of safe operation that unless my health fails I am secure. My point here is that I get sick and tired fighting the bulls***, and so have become less tolerant than I was (which was not that great!!). That energy is far more useful being used to help with the safety issues that seem to beset our industry and give it a non-socially acceptable reputation.

I am having a bit of a whinge here. Bare with me guys.

My problem is that I am vocal, headstrong, high profile, becoming a little arrogant, but have achieved a number of important milestones, the main one being achieving a new ruling in 1990 that allowed legal 2-place training, in the Oz gyro scene.

Here in Oz it seems to be a game to knock people down. S**T, I never want to be at the top, getting half way up the ladder is almost too tough.

Anyway, back to what is happening. No full time training this week so I plan to fit the Sub4 g/box to the new 120 hp ej-20 sohc, and swap it with the ej-22 and Hirth g/box that I have been running on Hybrid.

Before I take the ej-22 off we want to compare my friend Chums ej-20 with a Hirth g/box against my ej-22 with the Hirth box using the same propeller and engine tacho. The difference in engine rpm when tied to a tree will give us some indication as to the REAL power difference between these two engines.

Well it is not happening whilst I am chatting here.

Thanks for listening and no more whinging from me for a while!!!! LOL

Regards, Paul.
