Hay Harry,
Is that where John Travolta is based? I wanted very much to fly in to that place for the once-a-month luncheon/flyin that thay hold. But I moved before taking the opportunity to make the trip! Some Day !?!

Thanks fella's. I hate to say, it took me about two hours to get that pic out of my folder and attach it. You can tell by that, that I'm computer ignorant. I will try to attach some more pics. Have faith.
Yes, that is where J.T. is located. He's not there too often. I have another pic or two of his place that I will look up. I haven't met him but folks I know, who have talked to him, all comment that he is a personable and likeable guy. I hope to meet him someday.
Cheers :)

Does John Travolta land his 727 (or whatever it is) there?

He's got a 707, I think , and a Gulfstream? Keeps them both there. I've seen pictures of his place with both parked next to airline type sky walks, must be nice.
Plus he has some kind of ultra light he flys.

Hi,
I'll try to post some more pics of the strip later.
That strip is 7520 ft. long and 200 ft. between lines; 300 ft. overall. It's beautiful after being painted last summer...altho I kinda liked it better when it was faded in color. Unused by me, there is VASI and PAPI installed, for use on 36.
Nautilus founder, Arthur Jones, put in the N/S asphalt runway when he had his personal zoo located there...thus the name Jumbo-Lair. He had three 707's at one time, kept them parked around the berm area, plus a small fleet of smaller aircraft. There's no problem with T/O or landing a 707 there.
I feel very fortunate to have access to that runway thru my landlord, who owns the E/W grass intersecting strip. He had the license for Greystone Airport before Jones came on the scene. Most of the time, I'll taxi out for a mid-field t/o on the hard surface and land on the grass, as then I'm closer to the hangar.
Like I said...I'm very fortunate ;)
Cheers :)

Todd:
It has been a while since I had visited the Jumbo-Lair website and was surprised to see that writeup on JT. It was real nice. What a layout inside, huh.

John Travolta flies an ultralight? And we haven't hooked him on gyroplabnes yet?
Somebody with a two-place, get over there right away! Imagine what he'd build and fly...

We're working toward that Paul. ;)
When himself is in town, there is security at the entrance and roving security as well. The rolling gates off the taxi-way are closed. We just can't barge in, you know, and we don't want to.
I know he has seen me flying and we are hoping someday he pays us a visit...on our side of the runway...and makes inquiries. I would love to take him for a ride. Like you say, he may get the bug. ;)
Cheers :)
